Piece of mirror fell off

Driving down the highway and hit some bumps. Next thing I knew part of the black box behind the rear view mirror fell off. Turns out that the box has two halves and they separated. Some teeth on the right half are broken off, so can't put it back together. Anyone else have this happen? Scheduled to go in to get it fixed on Thursday (Dec. 3).

Speaking of falling off, last time I pulled the cabin cover of the sunroof, the plastic handle stayed in my hand... I poped it back, but looks like it is about to fall again next time I slide the cover... Very cheap piece...

I was driving in "normal" highway conditions here in Pennsylvania. We have some stretches of notoriously rough highway. Didn't hit anything, just the normal vibration of the seams in the cement highway. This was the black box behind the inside mirror, so at least I don't have to worry about the folding mechanism on the outside mirrors.
