![]() BMW knew the RS5 was coming along with the CTS-V. It wasn't just handling that kept it competitive against these juggernauts. MotorTrend.com and CarandD tested different cars. The trap speeds weren't off my much. Its on the M/T site. CarandD should be avail for our consumption in a few days online.

Look at the Audi's times. Also there was a recent software update to the DCT system, that might make a difference, but all new M3's would have the update now. I'll tell you next week when I pick mine up at the Welt ![]()

I'm telling you something funny is going on here Chris. M/T did have the ZCP. The article is still on their main page.. Quote:
Also, their car did 60mph in 4.1 sec and quartermi in 12.6sec.@ 113mph You'd think that was normal but you'd be wrong. Why? Look at the 0-100mph. 9.1sec?!?!! CarandD tested a DCT against a 911 and got 4.1to 60 and 9.9sec to 100mph. MotorTrend's ZCP is indeed faster than a normal M3. I know we have to account for track conditions but DAMN! Whether its the DCT update or the ZCP, I wont know for sure. I doubt you'll be able to tell the diff between 3.9 and 4.1 with your car. Sadly, I can't see any rag testing another M3 without it.

I pulled up the last three recorded 0 to 100mph pulls of the M3 by CarandD that are non-ZCP:
10.3sec, 9.8sec(DCT), 9.8sec. I can't believe they lopped off a second of the 0 to 100mph times. That is nuts. Motortrend's past 0 to 100mph times: 10.1sec, 9.7sec(DCT), 10.1sec The original car that was said to be the factory freak was this one: http://www.roadandtrack.com/var/ezfl...88724e04c1.pdf 0 to 60mph-4.1sec 12.5@114.8mph

BTW I purposely skipped the ZCP, .4" lower in Chicago is auto suicide and I wanted the forged wheels.

Well then that makes sense then. I wouldn't have gotten either if I were u. Do you have the 0 to 100mph figures for the ZCP in the R&T tested? I'm guessing it isn't online yet.

Scott what kind of guage cluster will the 1M have? The 135 is seriously under guaged. Can we see at least the addition of a boost guage and an oil pressure guage?

@ SCOTT26
I'm very curious about suspension setup. Are there any adjustments that can be made from inside the car? Does is have electronic damper control (as an option)? Or is it a "standard setup" like in the E30/E36 M3's? Will there be a way of determining the change in weight of the 1M when adding (removing) options like CF roof, different seats, different rims, etc? |
