Steptronic limit?

not sure if this is where I should put this but I can't seem to find any info on how much power the steptronic trans in the 135i can handle.

It handles 450wtq pretty well. Over that it can get a little sketchy.

thanks for the info. reason is Im just starting to do research and calculating the factors for a upgrade of the twin turbos from ASR or equivalent setup on pump gas 91 oct.

which is why i was concerned about the steptronic alone being able to handle the 450whp and 450ft/lb TT setup reliably on a day to day basis.

I think that I remeber hearing that the step can handle 500 lbft of input torque.

I hope this generation doesn't have the problems the ZF5HP19 is having.

I know that an e90post member HOTROD182 was having some issues with the AT shifting properly when he was running a good amount on N20 on top of the meth and map 9 on the JB3. He is likely running over 550rwtq for sure.

Probably would have been a non issue had he not sprayed through the shifts.

Ya I have no idea if he was doing that, but that is where a 6MT with a really good clutch will shine is spraying through the shifts as long as you know how to power shift properly. Otherwise, say bye bye to the trans.
