Yet another ED question

For those who took the European Delivery option, if I want to plan my delivery around my vacation, not the other way around, what would be good schedule to go by in order to get everything in order for your vacation. Or let me rephrase, let's say you're taking off from work starting on December 1, and have plane tickets for Munich to be there on December 2nd. When should you start talking to your dealer, ask around, when should you actually place your order so that when you get to Munich on December 2nd, you can go straight to BMW HQ, pick up your car and start your vacation? Is there any limit in how long your car can stay at the pick-up location in Munich?

Thanks a bunch!

Talk to your dealer as soon as possible. When I ordered the dealer let me pick the date that was best for me to pick up the car, if there is space available that day(the earlier you order the better your chances). I'm not sure about how much time it can sit there if you miss this date. Hope this helps.

Its not a big deal for it to stay there. Mine was completed in late April and I didn't arrive in Munich 'til May 23rd.

I would say for an early Dec pickup you can start the process with your dealer now. Give them the exact date YOU want to pick the car up and see if you get it. You probably will with that kind of lead time. As far as changing your plans and having the car 'sitting' in Munich waiting for you.....I've heard many people delay a couple of weeks but a couple of MONTHS would probably cause problems. Another tip: if you can pick-up the car the day AFTER you arrive you'll save yourself a lot of stress. Take a nap and enjoy Munich for an evening and start fesh the next day. Just my .02.
