Does anyone know where to buy/order Hazet 2169-6 or equivalent? I ordered it from Chadstoolbox and they sent me the wrong one

Bavarian Autosport sells a socket adapter, but it's not a Hazet. $15 bucks or something; I just got one.

Hi,

if you need any Hazet tools that you cannot locate, I can ship them to you. I am an official Hazet dealer located in Germany specialized in worldwide shipments. You can contact me directly or I can put up that item on Ebay.com

Regards
Jens

Just check ebay for the appropriate size - ~86 or 87 mm across the flats? Can't remember now - measure your filter housing.

I bought one for a Volvo for about $5. Works fine,

Yes the Hazet tool is also good for some Volvo oil filters so you can use that as well.

I have/use the Hazet oil filter cap on my 2010 135i (US specs). I really like Hazet tools. Here are some pics I posted before in another thread on this.

Oil filter cap tool - Hazet #2169-6
You can use either a 1/2 drive rachet extension or a 24mm socket on the cap.

Yes, the Hazet 2169-6 oil filter tool is also good for Volvo V40, V70, S70 and S80 models.

I also use the Bavarian wrench. It is mostly cast aluminum which I have broken before but I don't see that happening on a plastic cap tightened to 25 nM. It has a 17mm hex head which is the same size as my drain plug - so one socket to do both. A 1/2 square opening for a 1/2 inch ratchet wrench is way big for an oil plug wrench. If that is what the haznet has it is oversized and not as usefull. Everybody has a 3/8 ratchet but 1/2 is more rare (I have one but rarely use it).

Does this same tool work for the 2011 N55? Ill have to keep an eye out for one before my oil change is due.

Yes, I believe so. The oil filter housing cap (part #11427525334) is the same for both N54 and N55's according to RealOEM.com

Btw... some people also use a rubber strap wrench instead of the Hazet tool. You don't want to over torque the oil filter cap because you can damage the housing over time and the gaskets where it seals up against the head can start to leak. But that when the "grease monkeys" use waaaay too much force to tighten the oil filter cap!
