PIR: Track day and the HPF Orange Beast review - BMW 1 Series Coupe Forum / 1 Series Convertible Forum (1M / tii / 135i / 128i / Coupe / Cabrio / Hatchback) (BMW E82 E88 128i 130i 135i)

So yesterday was my second session on the track in my 2010 135i and I have been really impressed with the performance and handling. There was another 135i which was bone stock and was no match to the performance my car was able to throw down, especially after 3-4 laps and watching his car develop heat soak. I am running the Horsepower Freaks FMIC which was a tremendous advantage out on the track when pushing the car. I experienced absolutely no heat soak and lap times increased throughout the day (so did my brake fade!).

Along with the advantage of the HPF FMIC, AR downpipes with full exhaust seemed to significantly improve my turbo spool and was very evident when pulling past the stock 135i. Biggest downside to the track day was poor tire selection and OE brake pads having lots of brake fade throughout the day.

Highlight of the day: A ride in the HPF orange beast!

This was my first time to ever ride in the HPF car at the track and all i can say is HOLY SH$T!!!! The power was unthinkable, accelerating you are pressed so hard into the seats! As the car brakes, it grabs and your feet float up and the car sticks to the road and goes where its pointed with no loss in grip, then the throttle is hit again and you are slammed back in your seat and hitting 150mph down the straight in a matter of seconds.

Of course how does my car compare to the orange beast? well it doesnt, but it was nice to be able to experience the HPF car and see their work put to the test. Once again they had the fastest lap times and obviously the fastest car.

I cant wait for them to push out more stuff for the N54 cause they are going to build a BEAST!
