LC is best for 1/4m runs .. best i got 13.4s @ 172km/h ..

Just a little help for you because you dont know how to drag a car correctly.. And this is for others...

1. On street tires, just clean them off, do not, do not use the water box with street tires PERIOD...

2. Traction can not be 100% turned off, even with the triangle on the traction will still kick in a very little bit...I would recommend not using launch control hardly at all unless u want snapped axles and other broken parts....

3. These cars power bands are like most, dont run the thing to redline, IT'S POINTLESS... power is falling off at 6k, manually shift around 6100-6300 rpm to keep it in the power band, after that pwr starts to drop off alot...

4. You dont wait for the green on the tree on the track, thats for stupid street racers... or for people that dont know how to properly stage and race a car at the 1/4 track... You plant the throttle to the floor and release brake and go on the last yellow.... wait for the green and it's too late....

Lots of practice helps too....


Lastly, no offense, but I dont believe this 1/4 slip was this car... You picked up 8-11 mph and dropped your 1/4 time by 1 full sec....from stock..... a simple tune and IC on the new N55 cant make the level of power to produce these numbers on street tires.... The JB3 for the N55 really only makes about 30 whp... This Vishnu tune would need to make 65-70+ rwhp to run these numbers.... Drag racing math says to reduce your 1\4 mile time by 1 full sec and run 10-12mph faster you need 85-95 more hp.... dropping 100lbs off a car is equal to getting 10-12 free hp too....

no, sorry ,some of the mods were already on the car so i wasn't going to put it back to stock just to test it out....

1. I go through the water box on my street tires. Hit a 1.8 60ft.
2. There is no other way around it. You can't brake launch the '11 135i\
3. Actually you need to shift around 5.6k so that the car will shift at 6k
4. This really doesn't apply to over all et. R/t has nothing to do with your 1/4mile. And again, you can't brake launch with a dct.

Lastly, no offense, but for a "bimmer engineer" you really don't know how to add or subtract very well. Over all he gained 8/10ths of a second. As I mentioned to you in the other thread with my standard jb3 st1 I picked up just a little over 1/2 a second. He also gained 6-8mph from stock. Which again seems pretty damn reasonable.

And this car with a tune alone makes 55hp/70tq more than stock. Mounting a FMIC and letting it auto tune can easily bring you well over 65hp+.

I'm going to baseline my car next spring and see what it will do stock before thinking about the tune... You car laid down some good numbers with the mods...

do it and please report back. i honestly don't have the time to go to a dyno multiple times so i'll probably go once i get my catless DP and run the car with the tune and with out (valet map on the PROcede).

Maybe with a Steptronic like in your 3er, but the 135i DCT will shift at 6k if you hit the paddle at 6k.

To BimmerEngineer: N55 tunes make more than 30whp. PROcede's official dyno showed an increase of up to 55whp and up to 70wtq with no other mods. An intercooler, axleback and filter push that to 65rwhp+ with PROcede's autotune.

i think you guys missed my post with the link to my updated #'s in post #10, so i updated the first post with the newer slips.
the 13.3 i ran with no burn out before i figured out that you could turn TC off to do it, and obviously the 13.1 was with a burnout ,same mods.

I hope I am not thread jacking the OP but I figured I would post my time slips in this thread since most of us are already subscribed and all of our drag results will be in the same place. Anyways I went to the track today and got in six runs and had a best time of 13.22! I managed to get three runs in that were lower than my previous best of 13.62 I had another that was just a tick slower. I am just going to pretend the other two runs didn't happen because they were embarrassing. On runs two three and four below I used the the water box so I could get some good tire spin for the burnout, without it I had trouble getting the tires to break loose. For the burnout I took traction control completely off then let off the brake to start a roll and just went to full throttle. On runs four and six I used LC and launched between 2 and 2.5K. On runs one, three, four and five all had wheel hop to some degree. Car is an all stock 2011 135i with DCT. I think I had some good runs and I am getting pretty close to what a stock 2011 should run.

Let off the brake before the car revs to the 3500 limit. You just have to time it right and hit the gas just before the light goes green because you won't be able to hold it at 2.5k.

You can also enable LC and then immediately back off the throttle and adjust to 2.5K. This is a more difficult task though and you only have about a second or two to launch before LC turns off and the flag goes away. For me timing the light with this method is also more difficult. I have used both methods and the one I mentioned above seemed to get better results.
