While on the BMW tour in Munich saw the 1M coupe in Blue. Pics!!!

So after the BMW tour in Munich, went to the near by Pizzahut place. While sitting and waiting for the order, I was facing the window to see a camouflaged 1 series. I realized that its the 1 M couple and ran out of the place like a bat out of hell. The guy was stopped at the traffic light for a few seconds before driving off.

I sure hope so... ANY color of Blue would be better than White, Black or Metalic Orange.

Did it look blue in person? Maybe it's just the light/reflection that gives it a bluish tinge.

A 1M caught in the wild. Nice job!
That traffic light is about to turn green - no way he could have made it to the front of the car. I loved the Red/Yellow combination before Green while driving in Germany. It makes so much sense!

That's a measuring probe (Prandtl probe?).

This is probably another test prototype of 1M and not the final production model, therefore its color will not mean too much. Look at the chrome window trim - I think the production 1M will come with the black shadowline exterior trim as standard, like the M sport package in 128&135.

I tired! I was taking the pictures as I was running over! By the time I came close he started moving.

The car did look dark blue and as you can see the hood appears to be black.

If you've been around the area, you would know that there is very little choice of food near by. The BMW restaurants is very expensive and doesn't offer anything more than a light snack... so defaulted to Pizza Hut - which was actually more restaurant-like than state-wide! It was good overall, and if I wasnt sitting there, there would be no spy-shots!

It looks like the hood and front right quarter panel are black (?some special composite material).

Did the trunk lid also appear black?

Doesn't look like a CF roof.

Do you recall what the exhaust note sounded like? Similar to the video clips from the Ascari track in Spain?

The cars are dark in color because they do a nightshift in testing the 1M Coupe, especially on the autobahns and rural areas , The dark color is the camouflage for the night testing.

These models however are full prototypes meaning they have the complete aerodynamic package only disguised by tape.
They have started final prototype production at Leipzig which is a reason why the Leipzig Tours are suspended for the current time.

We will be getting to do our work on the interior soon as it was not finalized when we shot the car , which is normally the case when we get the first cars ,some are not final so we have to make do with what we have to begin with. In this case the visual aspects were completed , but some testing remains so we use clever sound-editing to enhance the sound to match the final product and we do pick-up secondary shots within a studio and on the road etc when the car is final. It is very few and far between that a finished BMW is used in initial publicity filming and photography, call it being a perfectionist. But this goes for every manufacturer.
But by the time of official launch material for press drives etc everything is final.

The 1M will be tested right through it's launch so the car is as pure as it says it will be.
