Idrive keeps crashing - BMW 1 Series Coupe Forum / 1 Series Convertible Forum (1M / tii / 135i / 128i / Coupe / Cabrio / Hatchback) (BMW E82 E88 128i 130i 135i)

Ok well first of all, I'm taking my car today to BMW at 12. But I am just curious if anyone else has had this problem. Ok, so when the car has sat overnight, the next morning the idrive plays no problem. After I turn it off, then come back to the car, no matter how much time goes by, idrive will crash every two minutes. Eventually, the orange screen will pop up after like every 5 crashes. This has been happening since the second day of ownership of the car which was June 20, 2010.

Haven't had the problem. Hope you can get it fixed.

No problems with my iDrive. It's likely a hardware problem, but I am confident BMW will fix it. Have you taken a picture of the orange screen you mentioned? Why have you waited four months to take it in?

Well the car sat for nearly 3 months bc I couldn't get it registered. After I registered it, I didn't drive it much as I was driving my Audi so it didn't really bother me. But now it's starting to get under my skin.

Ok so my car is at BMW. They are replacing the tail light cause it went out. And the entire iDrive CIC is being replaced.
