Sorry so many damn exhaust questions I just can't make up my mind wether or not I want to just get axle back or midpipes also..

What kind of gains would I get having a midpipe + axleback as apposed to just axleback? HELP ME DECIDE!

I only plan on doing exhaust/tune/intake to this car if that helps, what would you do if you were me with a 1k budget? exhaust wise going to hold off on tune till I can do more research.

you get most benefit for swapping out your DP's. But if that is not an option i would get axle back and midpipes. Maddad dyno'd i think 10-15hp increase with addition of their midpipes.

"Not just another "me too" midpipe for your BMW 135i. The MadDad midpipe is unique. While other midpipes delete lower factory cats just as the MadDad does for the added power, only MadDad replaces them with mini-resonators to take their place. These custom made mini-resonators look like metal substrate cats and they are positioned in the oem staggered layout of the factory catalytic conveters giving the MadDad midpipe an uncanny OEM type look. The MadDad midpipe uses . MadDad BMW products are designed to look and fit as if they were factory performance options. That means unpolished T304SS to emphasis the "non" tuner look. Mirror polished SS is always a dead give away that your running an aftermarket parts. Easy 15 min bolt-on application yielding 10-15lbs/10hp over a broad rpm range right up to redline. Dyno image shows honest bolt on gains comparing the factory midpipe to the MadDad with no other modifications, exact same dyno parameters, on the exact same car on the same morning(within 90 mins. of each other)."

with a tune you will get more bang for your buck, however without other mods running a tune can be unsafe for you motor so ultimately you will want more mods to also squeeze out the full benefit of a tune. Yes you can plug in a tune, run 16-19psi on a stock motor...but for how long?? If you want to be safe on a stock car running a tune, I would not boost more than 12 and probable stay there or just below.

with a tune you also have warranty considerations and having to remove etc each service call...which isnt that big of a deal but some may not like that hassle.

exhaust is nice cause once installed you keep it there, you make your car sound much better and you will get some HP increase (not too much, but 10-15 at least).

i personally feel tune-only cars are pointless, you either go for it or not. if you are looking to gradually do things then either way you go you will be happy. I personally started with exhaust and FMIC then did other things.

good luck!!!have fun!!! and remember, there is no such thing as too much horsepower!!! (HPF moto!)

Unless of course you have stock half shafts lol.

I really think these engines can hold 600hp+

I wouldn't worry about a FMI untill you are ready to put the tune in, it basically perfect for the stock boost levels, so it may only provide like 3hp without a tune.

with a tune, however, it will be fully optimized, and yield much better results for your money. otherwise you're just adding more weight then you're compensating for with HP increases.

yea, it'll be interesting to see how much the stock motor can take/make once ar design turns the boost up more on their single turbo. i agree on the half shafts though, notoriously weak link

i dont think 1000BHP, i am going with 600-650 before we start breaking shit in the engine. When HPF comes out with stage 2 turbo kit, i am sure it is going to involve some engine tweaking to support the power.

hey tim,

this thread should help. i'm not running meth (yet) but i know during the winter, more meth:water ratio is better while in the summer, a little more water in the ratio is better.

for progressive settings, 8psi seems to be a popular starting point, with full meth by 12psi or so
