JB3 Problem
Hi there Folks, I own an 09 135i Gulf Spec with Full exhaust, IC, CAI, Custom Tune.. i wanted to fix the JB3 Plug n Play and after i am done with fixing my car didn't start at all.. I bought the car used and it had the custom tune b4.. i didn't like the custom tune and wanted to install the JB3 but the car didn't work. is because the car is running the custom tune or something else. also after removing the JB3 the car has a fuel line fault. i went to the dealer and they said we can't load the factory map until there is a specific fault for doing that.. so i am stuck now.. and i would really appreciate ur help..
thanks alot, Abdullah |

LOL how is this a JB3 problem? I checked with BMS and they said if you're the person they are thinking of (friend of Ahmed) the problem was someone had cut/spliced a bunch of wires in the ECU box for a custom tune before you bought it and some of them are still connected or spliced wrong. Someone will have to check each wire against a wiring diagram of the car to check which one should be connected where.

The correct title for this thread is "I screwed the pooch in Oman and need help". Sorry, but a little ribbing is in order. You need to work backwards and find out who did the custom tune. Have that undone, have dealer reflash THEN install JB3. If at the end you have warranty or not is a moot point.

The car was purchased used from UAE.. so its a 400km drive, risky to take the car for a long distance drive with a fuel fault. i tried many times with BMW and they said we can't reflash it unless we get a permission from the factory to do that.

thats why you dont buy it used especially if someone modded it. But if there is a fault the dealer should be able to inspect it by taking your key and plugging it into their cpu system. When i had engine failure light on, they plugged in my key and realize what issue i had. If it doesnt throw any codes, i would just leave the car as is and not install the JB3 before causing some costly damage to the car in which the dealer wont cover.
