Spring/Shock Install Price

Had one shop quote me $500 claiming that in addition to the install, they "reset the rest of the suspension to the new ride height." Not quite sure what they mean by this.

Anyways, just seeing what others in this area are paying for comparable work.

They probably mean an alignment.

It took me about 2 hrs for the first front suspension side. The other side only took me an hour, and that included changing out the sway. The rears were about an hour a piece. So total about 5 hours.

You DONT need spring compressors. The hardest part is messing with the wheels.

Got a quote from a BMW master tech to do it on the side for $600. We should do a group install day, I've got a garage and all the basic hand tools. I would gladly install these myself but I don't have a second vehicle and I was afraid I'd have the front suspension ripped out and need some tool and have no way to get it.

I didn't do the suspension on my 128, but used to regularly change the springs/shocks on my Cooper S. How hard is the M3 swaybar install.

i hear the front swaybar install is a piece of cake. Just remove the securing bolts, it drops out and you install the new one. i want to install the e93 sway bar soon.

Just finished the swaybar install, not difficult at all.

I have been quoted about $600 for the install of my KW Coilovers. That is including an alignment on a very nice alignment machine that can tell you about suspension height as well. BMW quotes about $800 - $1000 for the same thing and most dealerships won't install KWs yet. (Maybe someday of the M3 starts coming with them!)

Having my suspension and short shift installed today. BMW had a crazy sale on performance parts and labor - couldn't pass up on it and also like that the parts and labor are fully warrantied through BMW. Will post pics by this weekend.
