Uh oh. I unplugged this (pic)

So, I was reinstalling my stock intake. This blasted tube kept getting in the way, so I unplugged it. I heard a depressurizing whooosh and soon as it was unsealed.

1) What does this tube do? Did I just let air in the brakes?
2) Can I safely start the car with it depressurized like that?
3) Do you recommend I do something else?

Don't worry about it. No idea exactly what it does, but disconnecting/reconnecting it is part of the normal procedure for installing any of the low budget tunes (SSTT, JB+, etc.). Start car as normal. To verify it is connected, you can disconnect it completely by squeezing the "ring" around it from the two sides and lifting, then reconnect it till it makes a satisfying click.

EDIT: It's not part of the brake fluid system, that's for sure. It may be a vacuum source for something, like the brake booster, but if that's the case it will rebuild vacuum as soon as you start the car as long as it's connected.

Nope. Getting it painted next week first. But I put the stock intake back on in preparation. Can't have water coming down those vents right onto the dual cone intake.

Okay, thanks for responding. I did follow the line back and it seemed to head back towards the brake fluid reservoir so I got a little worried.

it's a vacuum line for the brake booster. You won't have an issue, just as long as you plug it back in.

I forgot to put that tube back on last time I re-installed my PROcede and started the car.

I can tell you that it makes some funny noises
