Presenting the ultra light, yet affordable one piece rotary forged Forgestar CF5 wheels. These wheels are made to order with custom offsets available, to fit your 1er perfectly without the need for spacers or fender adjustments.

They are made to clear BBKs standard and utilize a rotary forged inner barrel - the same technology used on Formula 1 and Indy race vehicles. Available in standard and deep concave profiles.

Rotary Forged / Flow Formed Cast - Technical Information
This specialized process begins with a low pressure type of casting and uses a special machine that spins the initial casting, heats the outer portion of the casting and then uses steel rollers pressed against the rim area to pull the rim to its final width and shape. The combination of the heat, pressure and spinning create a rim area with the strength similar to a forged wheel. During Flow Forming, the pressure applied to the cast rim actually changes its mechanical properties, so its strength and impact values become similar to those of a forged rim. That translates to up to 15% less weight when compared to a standard cast wheel. The resulting grain structure within the alloy of the wheel is linear, flowing in a single direction.

These looks pretty nice. What's the differences between Rotary Forged and Flow-Form wheels? which one's stronger? How much do the 18x8.5/18x9.5" weight? Thanks

Rotary Forged and Flow Formed are essentially the same thing, just semantics.

18x8.5 / 18x9.5 weighs approximately 18 lbs / 19 lbs, respectively.

These are very similar in style to the now defunct ADV.1 F-Specs...the big difference here is that the CF5s are much lighter.

The posted pics shown above are of completely different wheels so it's not even a good judge of what the Forgestars will look like.

In any event, you needn't worry. I already have a pending sale with a 135i who is going to do a 19 inch staggered setup (with deep concave rear).

The wheels are still in production, we're looking at an ETA of May for these to be completed for my local customer.
