Being that NYC is much a much safer city than Atlanta I dont feel the need to arm myself in The Big Apple when I go out on the town.

NYC was more fun when it was still dangerous. NYPD stats were captain cooked A city police captain was forced to retire last year after he fudged crime statistics to make his precinct look safer -- adding to widening concern over the accuracy of NYPD stats and the belief that top bosses pressure supervisors into cooking the books. -=- Gorgeous EBRs ("Evil" Black Rifles") in this thread - congrats. Really dig the Colt 6940 and that Sig556 - both piston right? Or is the 6942 also available in DI? |

There's more to the story I'd bet. Driving between two places (residences) that you're legally able to possess said fireams is covered in the UFA and also echoed in most States' firearms codes (which are often preemption violations themselves). Same as driving to/from range/gunsmith/competitions. I guess they really wanted his $19 for that silly piece of paper... ![]() Edit: I actually read the article. While I disagree with the mental instability clauses based on how they're used (like in this case). Those laws are on the books. Seems like mom is at fault here. Or maybe him for being "dark" with his comments. idk. |

Primary Weapon Systems Mk107 7" SBR piston gun:
![]() It now wears an Aimpoint Comp ML2 and a Streamlight TLR-1s white light. It's not "black" anymore, but both of these are mine (the near rifle is a custom Rem700 in 308 with a Gemtech HVT suppressor): ![]() The AR is a VIS-2 upper with a Noveske 16" barrel on a Rock River Arms lower (tightest fit with this particular upper in my case) with a Timney match trigger (4 lb single stage.) This is my precision "3 Gun" AR that I use at 3 gun matches. It also has my Gemtech HALO suppressor on it. I need to get some pictures of my other two: LMT MRP (rifle length rail) with a 16" barrel and ACOG TA31RCOM4 on a custom marked lower. Vltor MUR-1 upper with Daniel Defense 7.0" Lite Rail on a custom marked lower.

The SBR? Nope, I'm a Class III dealer actually, so that one was pretty easy. Form 3, so no tax stamp on that one. Just $500 a year to keep my SOT current....
![]() The suppressors were acquired before I became a dealer, but the process isn't really that bad. Just some paperwork, $200 per suppressor, and a lot of time to be patient waiting for the NFA branch to approve it. My first suppressor (back in 2004) took over 9 months for the paperwork to be approved.... My last suppressor before becoming a dealer? 4 weeks! ![]()

I really want one of these.
KAC - PDW Still not available. The KAC PDW was designed around the proprietary 6 x 35mm cartridge, making the lightweight (4.5 lbs), ultra compact weapon highly lethal up to 300 meters. The recoil is 50% less than a standard M4 carbine. It operates on a proprietary dual gas piston system for reliability under extreme conditions and comes with the new ball-mill lightened "stiff" barrel, special KAC muzzle break, ambidextrous controls, and full curved magazine. ![]() http://drake-uk.deviantart.com/art/KAC-PDW-165629407 Last edited by M3Bahn; 03-24-2011 at 09:43 PM. |

LLC, trust, nonprofit corp etc. are all good choices, it just depends on your particular needs, with trusts seemingly the most chosen option lately. Given the penalties for having NFA items improperly, I'd certainly look to have a lawyer set up a trust just to make sure it is as airtight as possible. Some say that Quicken Will Maker with a notary stamp will be just as good, but is this something you really want to go cheap on? A few hundred bucks sounds like cheap insurance to me.... The benefit of using a corporation or LLC structure is that it is basically endorsed by the state in which it was organized in. If you don't have the proper documents, then the state doesn't grant you the certificate of incorporation. And yeah, I'd love to have a KAC PDW too! A few years ago I got a chance to tour the Knight's facility in Florida. HOLEEEEEEEE SHIIIIIIIIIITTTTTT is it badass. Reed Knight's weapons collection is amazing.
