can anyone drive in this freakin state?!

It's Mass school vacation week, yet each afternoon I sit in miles of traffic on 495N thru the merrimack valley, due to an accident. I've been doing this commute for 25 years incident free. can't seem to get a break . what do you think is the problem?

Try Rt3/93, and then call me back. 495 is a cake walk in comparison. I do agree that there are far more people zigging over the lane markers with shaving/phone/makeup/reading newspaper/eating soirees.

Actually, in this case, as I approached the 495/93 intersection, my gps indicated the backup on 495, so I took 93 - which was fine. However, when I got onto 213 to get back to 495, the 495 backup had precipitated an accident on 213.

Normally, it's true that 93 is worse. Back when I first came to this area, I had to get onto Rt 3 when it was just 2 lanes, which was a constant parking lot. I assumed the additional lanes had helped, no?

hah I think I saw that same accident on the way to NH on 495N. Poor Porsche, some crappy Volvo and a van.

Coming from Australia, I have only been here in MA for about 2 months and A LOT OF PPL do not observe road rules or have any common sense at all. Turning into on coming traffic as if you are supposed to give way for no reason, tail gating, merging into lanes without even looking and even horn you if you don't give way to the merging driver who is in the wrong, can't name them all! I'd say the road rules, law enforcement and driver education systems needs a complete overhaul!

Any of you guys every drive through Waltham Center on Main St.? Probably the most poorly designed road driven by some of the worst drivers ever. Take the drivers who are blind to lane markers and stick them onto a road where lanes suddenly and randomly become left-turn or right-turn only lanes or parking lanes. Definitely not fun to drive.

I think the inability to drive is a global issue in the entire U.S.
