135is 0 to 60 in 4.6 seconds really?
According to this article, 135is can do 0 to 60 in 4.6s, so how fast can a 1M go?
Below the article an 135is owner claimed he did it in 4.5s in winter tires and 4.2 in performance tires, really?????? If a stock 135is can do that than the 1M should be close to a Ferrari Italia lol. http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-revi...aven-bmw-135is |

Imo a car is more than just accelleration in a straight line. Much more.
4.5 ![]() A Radical/GTR/RS200/LaFerrari etc. on a track also benefit from their ability to take those bends at higher speeds than most of the cars. In a way, so does a 1M. Cheers Robin |

It's all about the surface, tires and launch. Given the right combo, sure.

Those problems are easily fixed by purchasing one of the 2011 1-series M Coupes that BMW sold in the United States. Good luck finding someone stupid enough to part with theirs (only 739 were sold, and most didn't linger in a showroom);

I've routinely run 4.4 but twice had a 4.1 0-60 as recorded on my P3 gauge

The 135is is quick, but it doesn't compare to the 1M. Y'all are safe.

Unless you have awd, there is a limit to a 0-60 time and when you hit a certain amount of power, its often even harder to achieve a really low run due to traction issues. A ferrari 458 and 1m with a great launch would probably be relatively close to 60 but the quarter mile or a rolling start and it would not even be in the same strasphere. So 0-60 is really really decieving measure of how fast a car is but rather how well it launches out of the hole or how well it puts the power it does have down to the ground without losing traction

Aren't we looking at pure marketing? Same chassis, relatively similar motor, but the is has less tire, less power, less suspension(probably a neutral factor here because the 1m isn't tuned for a hole shot) and an open diff? There is zero chance its faster, and its only advantage may be tire compound which I doubt anybody here is still running ps2's and if they are, they plan to switch when the time comes, any gain in tire compound is more than surpassed by the diffs effects. Just stupid on the marketing teams part, the disparity is there and it's obvious that they're picking an choosing numbers out of a hat to achieve their goals.

The 135is is a great car! I have both. I drive the 1M and my wife drives the 135is.
We actually got her's first. I was driving an e9x M3 at the time, and we picked up the 135is for her. After driving the 135is for a while, I was starting to enjoy it better than my M3. I thought to myself, "Gee, if only they made this in an 'M' it would be the perfect car." Thats when I found out about the 1M, and the rest is history! |

It's not a 1m and never will be. It does address their main complaints and is great fun. |

Awesome that you own both! Is the 135is a DCT? Is it 'better' in any aspects? Which do you prefer to drive? |

The 1M is my favourite BMW that I have owned (including 325i, 550i, X5, 335i, M3), and the 135is is my second favourite. |
