I believe in you Holly! I don't care much about the picture, just if they clear the brake calipers and can be spaced out enough to not look stupid.

I just ordered the standard BMW Winter Tire Package. $3k. Was told that the Wheel/Tire protection package I bought for the standard ones will also cover these at no extra charge.

The other option I was looking at was picking up new summer rims (HRE P40S Charcoal) and then using OEM as my winter set, but up here in PA we do get a fair amount of accumulation and thought a square option would be safer.

I found a potential great deal on a pair of used rims for winter. Just wondering if a square setup of 18x9.5 +41 would fit?

There's a handy offset calculator at the top of the E90Post Wheel and Tire Forum (http://www.e90post.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=12). Just plug in your info and it'll tell you how much difference you'll have between the new and old wheels/tires

Anyone??
I have order the BMW recommended wheels 270M, 18x8, same front and rear ($1,500). My understanding is that this is the same that BMW recommends for the M3. I will put Michelin Alpin PA3 on the wheels (235/40x18 the BMW recommended tire).

BTW, I tired fitting my 135 18" wheels and they did not clear the brake caliper.

Yeah, the 1 series wheels have wonky offsets

Does anyone have any pictures with the 270M wheels on their car? I wonder what the square setup will look like especially with the wide fenders.

Thanks. Some comparisons:

1M OEM
front: 19 x 9 ET31
rear: 19 x 10 ET23

New wheels
18 x 9.5 ET41

Calculated results:
Front: 16mm LESS clearance on the strut side, and the outside edge of the wheel will RETRACT 4mm
Rear 24mm LESS clearance on the strut side, and the outside edge of the wheel will RETRACT 12mm

I know I lose an inch in diamater so I guess the question remains, will they fit?

Without knowing the measurements I'd say that losing 14mm on the outside edge of the rears would cause problems fitting over the calipers.

Does any one know if the BMW 162's 18" will fit the 1M?

Would anything that fit a 2008 M3 fit on the 1M?

Anyone else successfully found any 18" wheels for winter that work without spacers for less than $250.00 per wheel? Tire rack has nothing in 18" that look good IMO. Square set-up preferred.

I expect delivery of my E82 M in Dec and have no plans to be driving it in the Canadian winter.

I have no desire to drive it in the winter either, however I don't exactly have a lot of options. I am considering picking up the BMW winter tires/rim package from the states. The Canadian dealer quoted me $3600...I noticed someone got the same for $3k

Will my 225 40 18 Dunlop 3D's fit a rear 18x9 rim without stretching too badly?

Baron BMW in Kansas City. I worked with the accessories manager, Laura. She said it was discounted, but think you could get the price if you ask. Baron's ph is 913-722-5100

You are absolutely CRAZY or super rich to be willing to spend over 3k for winters. I just picked up rims(motegi mr118) and tires (Blizzak WS70) from tirerack in the US for 1400 with TPMS which isnt necessary but I didnt want the damn light on all the time.

Honestly I would rather spend 3k on a winter car then winter rims and tires and if the 135 starts to be a huge headache this winter thats exactly what im going to do. This will actually be my first winter with two cars so im just crossing my fingers that not storing it works out.
