Just ordered...
2012 AW BMW 135i
Black Leatherette AW Trim M Sport Package MSRP: $39,150 Invoice: $38,485 Sale: $38,875 ------------------- Total: $37,875 (after a $1000 sign and drive certificate) I think I got a pretty good deal, I did get a lower price at another dealer ($38,553), however they are located an hour or so away as opposed to this dealer which is 5 min away. I felt that for the convenience and the fact that I would be servicing the car where I buy it from (preferential treatment) it was worth the price difference (~$350 after dealer fees) I am in a pretty good position though because I only need to wait a month, then I am going to China on business for 24 days. So by the time I get back I should be fully prepared to take delivery. Timeline: July 7, 2011 - Deal Made/Order Placed July 11, 2011 - Dealer Deposit Taken September 23, 2011 - BMW Accepted Order, received Production # October 11, 2011 - Status Changed to 112 November 1, 2011 - Production Started - Status 150 - Received VIN # November 11, 2011 - Production Completed November 23, 2011 - Boarded the TOPEKA, en route to the US ETA 12/7/11 December 7, 2011 - TOPEKA Arrived at the port in NYC December 14, 2011 - Scheduled Delivery Data

definitely man, if you dont mind me asking, what other options did you get and how much did the dealer end up going down on price?
base price 38775+dealer conveyance fee ($275) im looking at $39050 out the door (excluding tax which depends on what i trade my car in for) Last edited by crbalch; 07-08-2011 at 09:23 AM. |

well, i'm overseas and i get the military discount... so there's actually no negotiation involved. base price is set, and you add the options you want on top of that to get the final price. simple and stress free.
base price plus options / delivery came to $39215... and it's tax free, which is awesome. 2012 AW 135i (6MT) Black Leatherette M Sport Pkg Convenience Pkg Heated Seats BMW Assist w/ Bluetooth System Harmon Kardon Sound

I couldn't really see doing a 1 without the Premium package, but it is rather expensive at almost $2400. That bundling issue is something that I became seriously annoyed about this time around the car-buying experience; enough so that I almost threw in the towel on the whole idea (was pondering getting a used pickup truck, lol). But all the manufacturers seem to be doing it, and in the end it's only money, so I finally just shrugged and got what I wanted.
Anyway, according to Edmunds you're getting your car for less than invoice, which, with your options, is $40,830. I paid almost a thou over invoice (though still thousands below MSRP). Looks like a pretty sweet deal to me. (Maybe you don't have to pay the $875 destination fee?) Looked at another way, you're getting a BMW for under $40,000. I'd put on a hat and an overcoat and hope nobody notices you driving off. ;-)

New guy here.
So, for a regular Joe, who's not affiliated with the military and not wanting to do ED, what would be a reasonable increment over invoice to offer on a 2012 135i, paid in full transaction? |
