12 Volt Accessory Port Strength
The 12 volt adapter in my 135 doesn't seem to work with my 12-volt air compressor, but it does work for things like a phone charger or ipod charger and the like. The air compressor I have works fine in our 328. It's a standard Campell Hausfeld 12 volt 12 ampere air compressor. Doesn't come on at all. Is the 135 pushing less power than the 328, or is it potentially messed up?
I fully admit I'm not knowledgeable about electrical systems, so any help is appreciated! :-) |

It is probably drawing too much power. I use this adapter and connect accessories like the compressor or vacuum cleaner directly to the battery jumper terminals under the hood. You can pick them up at any auto accessory store for 5 or 6 dollars.

The accessory port in my console, the one for the cigarette lighter, will power my Viair 70P as long as the car is either on or has been on recently. It only works for a minute or two after you shut the car off, however. So I use a clamp on the battery accessory port as illustrated above. I got mine from Amazon for about $5.
