I know of a status 111 that is available and the build can still be spec'd, but carries a small premium. PM me if interested.

Did you just find this allocation this evening?

No, when BMW had the concept of the 1 Series tii, I told my dealer to put me on the list (first place). That transformed into the 1M Coupe list. I was still first. When the allocation for car #1 came up, I was not in the position to move forward. I was told I could be in the second wait spot. A few weeks later, car #2 came up. Again I had to pass and put myself in the number 3 spot. Well when this came up in July I bit the bullet and said I'd move forward. The order was placed, and we moved forward. I was given the order number and started following the process. On 9/5 it showed production was completed. I looked earlier today and saw that nothing had changed, then tonight came up the enroute. It must that they process their data on the overnights. Oh, I didn't set up multiple allocations with multiple dealers. Just straight forward stuff. BTW, MSRP and they have yet to ask for a deposit. I like that relationship.

Great story. I'm glad it worked out, especially with a trusty dealer.

2nd Lt. Mike: I was bing mapping at Scott AFB. Man that's a lot of awfully pretty looking concrete. Think they'd mind an autocross or two there? It would be nice if you were the base commander (or his best friend).

So you still can't get a 1M at MSRP in most parts of the country?

They have a pretty large ramp, especially for a wing with not too much of a flying mission. There's a local track about 15 minutes from me that closed down recently...Gateway International Raceway. Rumor is they may open it back up again. With my luck, I'll probably move again before that happens.

For autocross your AFB is just about perfect. Unless of course it is still really active. Then people playing with cars are not appealing (unless the Base Commander is a car person too). My salesperson sent me a VIN this morning. She said the boat/car should get to port 9/21 and at the dealership on or about 9/26.

Anyone interested in an '05 330i with ZHP, 110,000 miles?

Oh and from today's/Sunday's NY Times:

Phoenix bsm

Ok update. Not in stock but confirmed order in production. They are asking $61,600. But we all know this is negotiable.

I know I'm jumping into this 11th hour, but if anybody has a line on an MSRP allocation eligible for ED, would much appreciate it.

Thanks.

Close to giving up!!!

I have spoken with 7 dealers with allocations still available ALL at the $5k-$10K over MSRP today None of them would negotiate at all! One CA agreed to $2.5K over only to have the Mgr. shoot it down and say no.
I am still looking for a dealer to do one at MSRP. I Do not need ED or PCD
I May be willing to go up to $1000 over but that's it,
sorry its just not worth paying what they are now asking.
At $5K-$10k over I would buy a different car altogether.

Dunno if you're just trying in Cali, but I'd open up the calling all over the country at this point.

But I'd stand firm on the not going over MSRP, not even a penny. Bad enough having to pay retail, but more than that, not worth it IMHO. Don't let the hype get to you. In the end it's just a car and there's always a better one on the way. Or if you have to have this car, a little patience and one will come to you at a better price. No doubt those that have to have the newest big thing will be trading these in for the new hotness, which could come as soon as next year.

my 2¢

The SAGA continues....here is the story
I have had my name in with 3 dealers, with a deposit at 1 of them. This week 2 dealers notified me that they would not be getting enough allocations that would allow them to get to my name on the list. SoI have been calling looking etc.
TODAY the third dealer, that I have a deposit with, called and gave me a new (second) production number (said that I moved up on the list as someone ahead dropped off). I was pretty skeptical of this as when I checked out the first production number that they gave me with BMWNA, it turned out it was not in the system. (THANKS! to those on this forum that suggested that I check it out!!) as the Bmw rep said the production number or order was not accepted. I assume that meant the dealer did not have an allocation for it yet.
So...just now I checked out the new production number the CA gave me today, and lo and behold this one is valid in the online system (my bmw) The ca said he transferred my specs to this new production number. The status of the new production number online was "order documented" the bmwna 800 system says "scheduled with no production date"
This makes me somewhat reassured, but I am not certain and I do not quite know what to make of this. That is, should I stop looking and be comfortable a car is comming...or not? The ca says I am definitely getting one. But that is what he said when he gave me the
prodution number that was not in the system because it wa "not accepted"

So what do you guys think and advise? Should I Keep looking or celenrate?

Thank you for your insight!
