they issued a full recall on all effected HPFP's if yours happened before the recall, well... bad luck in that case, you were an early adopter. |

Early adopter? The engine had been around since 2007 and my car was a 2010, the last year of the N54 in the 1er.

im with king on this one, from 07-10 hpfps were an absolute problem, this was not a rare or unusual occurance. mine was replaced at 24k in 2010 and i consider myself lucky. LOTS of people had to go through 2+ pumps. It does appear that the revised pump holds up though, you certainly dont hear about it as often.

My recently purchased
...CPO 2010 went in today, after 3 mornings of cold start issues (Engine warning, struggling to idle and loss of power). Their initial diagnosis is a misfire on cylinder 1, but the problem disappears when engine warms up. So they're keeping it over night for retest in the morning. So I'm going with unreliable... |

I am a recent new owner of a 2009 135 CV 6spd manual. I am very happy so far, mine is out of warranty but I purchased a 3/36K from Zurich to give me a piece of mind. I have a few friends with N54's and all the same discussion. My only other mention would be the wastegate rattle also now under an extended BMW warranty. I recently traded my 2008 X5 (4.8i) for a 2013 X3 3.5i, so I hope to chime in and give my own impressions between the N54 and N55.

I'm interested in this too. I'm currently looking at this CPO. Thoughts?
