Seems pretty cool for those who want performance without the warranty worries.

Of course for those not worried about warranties, there are much more potent options for similar or less money.

Although the picture shows the sticker, there's no mention of the new black kidney grill. Seems like it got deleted from the original press release...

Now all we need to wait for is for this item to show up in the dealership system.
They still have no idea what I'm talking about when I inquire.

Black grilles only come with new cars from the factory ordered with it, as "Performance Edition" models.

This release is about the retrofit kits.

Can someone explain the "exhaust burbble" does this kit make the exhaust burbble/crack more?

Also, anything about the power kit coming with a badge??

I think the badge is just a sticker in your engine bay.

My turn: I don't have the Sport Package. Does anyone know if I'm out of luck?

This! I just called my dealer and they said stage1 is only for 335, if I want stage 2 it's 2400 + labor & tax = $3,000.

Guess I'll try another dealer later in the week.

599 plus 2 hours labor comes out to about $850, not bad. Considering that it should be problem free and not need to be removed for service or emissions tests, I think it is a reasonable deal. .2 seconds on 0-60 would suggest more than a 20 horsepower increase.

Their stock numbers are conservative too. I'd like to see the dyno, before comparing this to 3rd party mods.

If you believe their numbers are conservative, then you should have no trouble believing their dyno chart.

It turns out those rumors may have been right. The 2007 BMW 335iís N54 twin-turbo six is rated by its manufacturer at 300 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque. And when we put the first 335i coupe on the rollers, it laid down a very impressive 275 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque. In awful conditions, too: 92 degrees of humid, Fahrenheit heat.
Quote:
The 335is put down 293 hp and 343 lb-ft, beating every previous N54 we've tested by a big margin. And if you look at the torque curve, the midrange overboost function BMW promised (rated at 369 lb-ft) is definitely alive and well.

Can someone provide a link to a BMW website (bmw.com, shopbmwusa.com, etc.) that confirms the special pricing for these tunes?

All I see is bimmerpost and other non-BMW websites talking about it. Hard to negotiate with dealers without an official website that you can point to.

Finally, they found one case where the 335i peaked at almost 300hp at the wheels, which puts actual output at close to 375hp. It looks like BMW engineers have seriously underrated this engine.

There's no negotiation (not on price).
They won't negotiate anything until they have the item in their system.
By then they should have a price.

I can't even decipher their dyno chart, and a section of it is missing. It looks like it came from marketing. Hence, the independent dyno results I posted, which confirm that their stock numbers are conservative. Many other independent dyno tests have shown the same.

So, I would like to see independent dyno tests for this mod.
