I'll be skipping thru my radio presets with the steering wheel control and sometimes the AC will turn on. I'm 100% sure I'm not pressing any other buttons on the steering wheel other than preset up/down. Has this happened to anyone before?

99.9% sure I have seen a similar issue posted on here, unless it was on the e46 board.

Did a quick search on both sites and couldn't find it. Found steering wheel button weirdness on both sites, but not the thread I remember. I want to say, the user would get random, changing, functions from one button. If s/he played with it enough, eventually it did what it was supposed to.

I want to say it was this forum, because I think I remember climate control in there (which is not on the e46 steering wheel) and I think I remember a few people saying to just bring it back to the dealer, which really doesn't apply with the e46 any more.

Sorry. I wish I could find it, because now it is going to drive me insane, too.

I figure a trip to the dealer was probably in order, just wondered if it was a common issue among us 1addicts.

I just got the car back from having the JBE unit replaced (radiator fan was kicking into high gear randomly and my fuel gauge stopped working). Not looking forward to being away from my car again so soon, I can live with it until my next oil change service. :-)

Sure you're not accidentally pressing the recirculate button on the wheel? I always turn on my air-con via the button on the steering wheel just coz its easier.

When I hit the volume down or up, the bluetooth will sometimes dial up the last number I called, as if I hit the phone receiver button. I'm looking straight at the volume button and pressing it, and the bluetooth will start to dial.

Took it in, and of course they say, "oh you're just fat-fingering it."

Yea, definitely not fat fingering it. The very first time I thought I was, but then I made sure to be vigilant about not touching the AC button on the steering wheel. Also, I have skinny fingers. ;-)
