My Yoko S drive will soon need to be changed so before i decide to switch to another brand i thought i d share my experience and request yours.
The grip and overall performance was average i really expected much more compared to the OEM run flats - in dire situations the car feels like it is going sideways much less progressively than the run flats ! i also felt that they were a bit too soft However comfort and noise are much better than the run flat - as was the price -
so now i am wondering whether to stick with them or try another brand - anybody has recommendation for that price range or slightly above?
also i am considering increasing the size - i have Breyton GTS-R rims which are OEM size - was thinking of putting in 225 front 245 back - anybody tried it ?

I put 225 and 245's on stock 261 rims, the Hankook EVO V12's and have been perfectly happy. No tracking, mostly city driving.

What ever tire you go with... make sure it has a XL sidewall rating. That XL rating is for a higher sidewall load - to give the tire's sidewall less flex. I went with 225's/255's non RFT, Michelin PS3's. I think next time I will go with Michelin PSS tires. Only bc they are so much cheaper than PS2's or PS3's and are suppose to be better performing in every way. Here is my writeup when I went from RFT to PS3's...

I found the S-Drives really quite average as well.

Not sure about how any tires in the same range compare, but I did switch to Bridgestone RE-11's (225 & 255) and the difference was night and day!

Overall grip is amazing, just as comfortable and less noisy. I cant fault them

Thanks for the input - How did the front of the car handle at low speed? didn t it feel a bit too heavy with the 225's in the front ?

I have the Hankook V12's, not a fan of those either. Took my car to the track and they performed poorly as well as tons of traction issues if I try drag racing as well.

Going to go with Hankook RS3's or Star Spec's.

The Hankooks are great for daily driving but they leave a bit to be desired when pushed to their limit. The sidewalls are soft and gummy, and as you saw when they get pushed really hard they don't have the best traction.

For most people though, a good value would be the Hankook Ventus V12s considering their price.

Dunlop Direzza Star Specs come in 1er friendly sizes for a decent price, probably a bit of a step up for the s drives. A lot of people on here have the Star Specs and seem to like them. Michelin PS2s or PSS are yet another price bracket above but generally provide the best performance for the price for a street tire.
