True.. I didn't really give the 301 a fair go, as I switched over to the 4.02 within days..
Although the 4.02 seems to be more for a DD, whilst still retaining a certain amount of aggressiveness...

I should add I was planning on stacking the jb on top of the cobb but really didn't like the feel of the base agressive map and decided to stay with the jb and get the new g5 board, installing today......

Fair enough... On the 1M, the mapping seems adequate, as the car has a moderate factory tune as a foundation, as you know. Just gives it that aggressive edge down low, without having to wait for the over boost to kick in and give you whip lash..

I actually found the cobb a bit soft down low and there was a big punch in the mid ranges, where as i find the jb4 pretty consistant thoughout, i.e pulls the same from 0 to 6500 no rubber band sling if that makes sense??

It actually acts similar to what you are describing with the JB4.. A constant and even pull from down low , and right through the rev range.

I did look very closely at it (before i bought an ETS) and after looking at a bunch of technical IC flow discussions i decided the 'extra' area would interupt the smooth flow and create a bunch of turbulence of air through the IC and be counter productive.

Have discussed the stepped FMIC with Justin@Advan several times, and he is convinced after extensive research, that is the way to go for greater cooling, with a greater front facing cooling service area..
