first pic of where straps are attached. Second is 4 tires across back seat (with seats folded down). 2-275 and 2-295. Third is my car. Not from Hallett, from Barber, but same configuration. Including friends red 40' trailer in the background.

I carry wheels/tires the same way, though I now have removed the rear seat entirely so they sit a little lower.

What do you use the two blue straps for?

I snake the strap through the wheels to secure them. Those wheels would become 50lb missiles in a collision. I pack my stuff around the straps.

yeah if you stack them vertically - ala life saver roll - they absolutely need to be held in with straps because they will roll forward when braking... and roll back when accelerating.

I lay mine down flat horizontally instead... .... and while they probably should be strapped in still.. they really don't shift much at all as the seatback is wedged against the bottom tire. the top ones can shift a bit.. but with them leaning downard towards the trunk..... it would take a serious braking effort or a collision for them to move forward.
