New member here at 1addicts.

This is my project thread for my 2011 135i that was ordered last month. I started a micro-site for all the information related to it, but I figured posting it here would get more people to see it / keep tabs on what's happening.

Here's a quick summary from my site:

August 14th: Order placed. Cashmere Silver, Teracotta interior, Nav, HK system, 6MT, M Package, Performance exhaust, Performance bumper/sideskirts

August 24th: Production started on the car

September 1st: Production completed on the car

September 4th: Car left Bremerhaven on the Sirius Leader

Photo of the actual ship, as it came into Bremerhaven:

I've been tracking it daily, but haven't had any position updates since the 6th

Last updated position:

Several mods planned / in the process of purchasing (mostly suspension & cosmetic stuff until some power mods are available readily for the N55).

Here's a photoshopped image of what I plan for the project to look like:

I'll keep this thread updated as I track / build up the car

Does anybody have any leads on an upgraded intercooler for the N55? I've been looking around but haven't seen anyone that is close to having one ready for production

I never thought of it that way. I guess to each its own... there are those who would argue that buying a 1 screams, "I cannot afford a 3 series" but I will take my one over the 3 series any day. Regardless, I love the contrast on the roof if the OP go through with it!

We need more 1 series meet here in SD!

Brief update

It's been four days since the ship last reported a position to any of the tracking systems I have access to.

The assumed fate of the Sirius Leader:

Is:

Attacked, and sunk by U-boats somewhere in the Atlantic.

Ship is at the Panama Canal finally. Guess it wasn't sunk after all.

I had both a 335i coupe and the 135i approved and ready to sign the papers last week. Of course the 335i was a higher payment, but not enough to really be a deciding factor.

I picked the 1er.

Update

The Sirius Leader finally made it through the Panama Canal, after being anchored outside for almost two days.

Managed to capture a gif of the actual ship heading through the southern Gatun locks this morning

Just happened to be starting its way through when I checked it

It looks like the ship coming up behind the NYK does a powerslide and almost takes out the center divider.
