But wait, there's more. I also was going to mention that the stock exhaust weighed only 26.2 lbs compared to about 34.6 lbs for the Eisenmann. So, I'm carrying around an additional 8.4 lbs.

So, what exaclty have you done to the exhaust system? No cats at all now and free flowing axle back? Meaning catless DPs, catless midpipe and free flowing axleback? Just trying to clarify what you did exactly. Also, are both dyno runs on the same software (beta 1) or is Cobb tuning the software for your new setup?

Eisenmann also offers a "full" system that replaces the cats and the resonator. I just bought the rear portion. |

Wasn't it Cobb that was saying they thought the axle back factory exhaust was very restrictive? This definitely proves them right. 16 whp, especially on a Mustang dyno, is huge power increase for just muffler change!
I can't wait to see what happens when the cats go away, a better FMIC is installed and better air intake added! I wouldn't be surprised if the car is gets close to 375 whp on the Mustang ![]() |

What's interesting is that HP Autowerks also saw a 15ish who gain on their 1M when they switched out the midpipes and Borla catback muffler. I wonder if the N54 midpipes are as restrictive as everyone thinks.

Possibly with a stage 1 level of tune you reach a certain level of reduced back pressure and anything less than that doesn't create extra hp. Not certain if this is right or not, just thinking (typing) out loud here. Seems reasonably plausible though.. |

I finally got around to installing the Cobb tune, my M is stock except for the Remus Sport exhaust, the tune really added a lot of low end torque. The tune in combination with the new exhaust makes the car very strong, I'm very pleased with the result.

Doesn't the Cobb tune 'smooth' out the torque so it more linear as in a NA power plant?

There's 2 versions of the Sport and Agressive maps available, stock and linear. The linear map smooths out the throttle response and is more linear than stock. So, yes.

So even if you are using the aggressive 'stock' throttle map on the COBB tune not the 'linear' throttle map and you press the 'M' button it still sharpens up the throttle response over and above the COBB throttle maps?
Thanks |

Anyone know why most of the 135i in COBB's dyno database are making more power than the 1M by 30-50hp yet are not making the same amount of torque?
Link to COBB Dyno graph below. http://accessecu.com/dyno/index.php?...rgb2=204000000 |

Correct. The difference isn't as drastic as the "stock" tune vs the "M-Sport mode" since the Cobb tune enhances the response of the engine even in non "M-Sport" mode.

Is the M button programmable in any way? It would be cool to have the 'linear' map activated as normal but when you hit the M button the aggressive map kicks in. Not sure if this is doable.

Not sure what can be done here - best to shoot an e-mail to Rob@Cobb.
