better check your insurance policy fine print, might void your policy if your vehicle is not ADR approved.

If this exhaust did not pass ADR, then we must have the most stringent exhaust regulations pretty much world wide. When I was hunting mine down, I contacted a lot of Asian dealers, the UK, Europe, USA etc and all stocked the exhaust and were happy to sell it. I could even get one from New Zealand, so I could only assume that Australia was pretty the only country world wide that would not sell a PE at that time. Found the USA the cheapest.

The issue is not that the PE isn't ADR compliant. The issue is that BMWA didn't see the potential volume for the PE, and thus margin, to justify the expense of getting it tested and approved for ADR.
One can only guess whether it would have received ADR approval if BMWA had been bothered. But based on other cars that are MUCH louder than the PE, I think we know the answer. Thanks BMWA (and I mean that), you forced us to look at other ways of sourcing your product, and given the extortionate mark-up you put on your product in Aust, you saved us all a lot of money - KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK |
