Car Ramps
Can anyone suggest where I can pick up some plastic type car ramps.
Preferably a local Oz supplier. Thanks.

Considering my car is stock height like a lot of other cars here. Has everyone else had the issue of not being able to get up the ramp due to the front bar mashing in to it?
I've had to buy some lengths of wood and put them about halfway down the ramp and essentially extend the ramp out another 500mm so the angle of ascent isn't as steep.

Other than that, they're easy to drive up onto and have little rubber grips on the bottom. They're low profile so they fit under my stock E88 front bumper without any issues. They do contact the rubber mud guards but there's still a few cm of clearance. |

Looking at the picture above those ramps look lower than the ones I purchased from SCA. I probably picked up some heavier duty 4wd ones

I tried the old "front on ramp rear on a jack trick"............... ONCE!
The car rolled down the ramp and pinched me between the handle of the jack and the garage wall, not a very good experience so PLEASE be very careful doing that. |

Still, I will rock up with my car and put them to the test before purchase. ![]()

I've done it twice so far over the past 2 weeks and both times have been ok. There's a fair amount of space on the top 'level' section of the ramp and I had it driven all the way to the back of it. Once I got it up on the jacks I even gave it a little shove and couldn't get it to budge so I figured I was ok. I did think about putting some wheel chocks behind the front wheels but there isn't really any room. Quote:
To my understanding, the E88 stock is lower than an E82 stock due to the same springs being used but the increased weight. If you are ever up near Newport I'm happy to let you test mine. Alternatively, we can compare car heights this coming Saturday to see whether it will fit or not. |

I'd check as the approach angle of the 1M isn't good due to extended bumper overhang ....also yours is dropped

I'm at stock height, and I got some red SCA ones, and my front bar scrapes underneath. I bought the tallest ones they had, for the extra clearance.
It's not bad, cause its right underneath the front splitters, but it still rubs It was too late by the time I realised. I just gotta get some extensions for the extra clearance. |
