Jb4 Chip

Still got this bit of kit left over from my 135i but I\'ve yet to put it on the 1m. It transformed the 135i but sometimes placed the car in limp mode. (Always rectified by restarting the car again.)

Anyone tried this yet with the 1m? If the limp mode thing was sorted then it would be a great bit of kit. My 135i with the chip on was faster than the 1m in a straight line

Firthy.

it is my understanding from exchanging pm's with some of the guys that the JB4 chip will give the 1M similar gains as it did for your 135. I am running a JB4 myself, would love to see one on a 1M. You should talk to Terry or someone on N54 tech about you putting it on your new ride

Put it on immediately! It works very well on the 1m and no limp mode in my experience just get the latest firmware or it will have issues.

+1 for the jb4
Running for almost 2 weeks now. Fantastic concept. I really do not understand why anyone would want a flash tune since the jb4 has been so reliable for so long on many different bmw's. Changing maps on the fly! It can't get any better than this. Of course, I had a mechanic install it, but very easy for him to do in about an hour.

Yeh... I am still on the fence about this.

Maybe give Terry a call or send an email.
He is Burger at Burger tuning, which puts out the jb4.
