VAC Tips:

Why do you want a Quaife LSD?
Improved acceleration, traction and stability. Rather than using clutch plates as a method of operation, the Quaife ATB uses sets of floating helical cut gear pinions that run in pockets and mesh during normal driving. Should one of the driven wheels start to spin however, the helical gears start to generate a torque bias thanks to the axial and radial thrust of the helical gear pinions in their pockets. The result is a progressive transfer of torque away from the spinning side of the axle to the driven wheel, which is now capable of transmitting a greater proportion of torque. Unlike a plate style LSD the Quaife unit delivers performance without the need for strip downs and rebuilds. There are no plates or gears to wear or break and the ATB units retain standard vehicle lubrication.

~3 hours is a fair quite for removal of your stock final drive, and installation of the new built final drive.

2 people signed up so far, but a few more will next week. This goes to Mar 12, and these are expensive items....so I don't expect to sell 10 in a few days A few dozen PMs, calls and email though!

I've very interested. What is your opinion on the Wavetrac vs. Quaiffe? I'm primarily concerned with autocross performance, which I would say is more leaning towards less lockup than other forms of racing, and should definitely prefer zero effect on decel with the sort of tight turns I deal with.

I tend to want to lean towards the Quaiffe as it is more of a known quantity, but I'm open to opinions. Has anyone done a (close to) back-to-back test?

Quick reaction (on both lockup and release) are definitely important.
