option s840 and bootleg PPK sw...
FYI... he bootleg PPK sw is only for the N55 cars. No one with a N54 has posted the sw yet. So only N55's guys.
Quote:
ALL US spec 135i's have an oil cooler(N54's and N55's). Only some really early 135i verts did not have an oil cooler unless they ordered the M-Sport option(s). But all 135 coupes came with an oil cooler. Now on 335i's this wasn't the case... you had to order M-sport in order to get the oil cooler. I don't think the oil cooler became standard until 2009 or 2010 model year. Some BMW dealers were even retrofitting oil coolers to some cars that were running very hot(in the USA). Here is what s840 or option #840 is all about... The suspensions are the same. Its basically just a trim and sport seat package. Here is what each M-Sport options come with. The prices bellow were for my MCS 2010 135i. All 135i's get RFT (also called RSC). Canadian cars do not get the TPMS sensors inside of each alloy wheel - like US spec cars get. Canadian cars get the EU system which uses the car's ABS sensor to detect when a tire is going flat. Leather seats are an option. Leatherette was standard in 2010. I think for 2011's(and on wards) leather became standard. When ordering a new 2010 135i there are TWO M-Sport options. (I think this was also the way it was for all model years: '08-'11's) #1). ZMP option code: $1,300 (Miltary Sales price) (can not be ordered with ZSP!) which includes 2MR 18" double spoke wheels #261M 337 M-sport pack, door strips in M, shifter & hand brake all M 481 Sport seats 710 M-sport steering wheel 760 Shadowline trim 775 Anthracite headliner (black) 840 Increased top speed limiter the "other" sport option is this one: ZSP #2). ZSP Sport option $1,100 (mil price) 481 Sport seats 710 M-sport steering wheel 760 Shadowline trim 840 Increased top speed limiter So... for a measly $200 you get the nice Anthracite headliner, M-double spoke wheels (same size as standard car though), M door sills and shifter/brake. I went with the ZMP on my car. I order my car thru Military Sales program. I think the US options were a $200 each more. ? I think the ZMP option is more rare from what I have seen over here. I had to special order my car the way I wanted it. Good Luck, Dackel PS: IF you do not order the M-sport or sport options (and hence option #840) your car is limited to 210 kph (135mph). IF you HAVE option #840 your car is also limited but to 250 kph (155mph)! Hope this help you out.

http://www.***********.com/showthread.php?67835-Flash-theBMW-Performance-Power-Kit-for-N55-Exx-for-FREE-with-Winkfp there is also a thread on N54 tech about it. I haven't ventured into the coding world yet so I contacted my local coder which was able to do the flash for me in less than 20 minutes with no battery charger required. It seems he has some special hardware to be able to do this quicker.
Edit*: the asterisks are blocking the word boost..addict (without the ..) also, Dack is correct, bootleg only available for N55 at this time. Thanks again to Hans. |

I didn't actually do the coding myself, just read the thread and figured my local coder could do it for me, which he did. If you want to venture into attempting to do this yourself I would probably reach out to Hans on Boost_addicts or N54tech, he seems to be very open to helping people through the procedure, especially if you leave him a tip. I'm not sure if it voids any warranty. Technically I think the PPK can be installed by an independent mechanic also? As long as they have some BMW software? I'm not sure about this. I am in downtown LA to whoever asked, work in the financial district for a General Contractor.

Got a question for ya, guys. Currently looking into the PPK software for the 135i. For manual transmission, it adds 30 Nm while for the auto box it adds 50 Nm. Yet the M135i with 6MT has 450 Nm from the factory. To add to the confusion, MPPK for 6MT F30 335i gives you 250 kW, but only 430 Nm again!
Anyone knows the reason behind this?

This sounds awesome, except I'm cpo and donf want to void. I'm sure they would want to see proof of purchase. There is a sticker that comes with the OEM lurchaze I believe.

What if you decide you don't want to sticker up your car? What if you lost your receipt. I think they would read the key/ scan the car and they would see the PPK and be good to go. At least that's what I'm hoping. It's designed and offered by BMW, why would they have a problem if it's on your car, regardless of how it got there? Can they really void a warranty for having a tune installed that is offered by BMW? I'm just playing devil's advocate here and hoping for the best next time I go in to the dealer, although my SA is pretty good with Mods and aftermarket parts.

I think when the key is plugged into the ignition it transfers info. I'm not sure how the dealer reads software anyways, if it is on the key or if they read through the computer. One easy way would be to see if your spark plug interval changes?

There's a release code which comes with the official purchase. If for any reason the firmware gets nuked, I can present this code to get it reprogrammed again. The paper I have with the release code also has a serial number. I also had my PPK2 installed by a dealer. So they have a record of the work done which should also be seen by other dealers.
Even though I have the placard and the white sticker installed on the radiator core support along with the white sticker on the DME housing, I was told by a BMW mechanic to always tell the SA to put on the paperwork you have the PPK software. He said many times the mechanics are in a rush and won't notice the stickers and placard. It's nice knowing the software is out there "free of charge." But I probably would still go the legitimate route as I wanted the upgraded cooling bits that make up the PPK2. Plus I won't have to worry if anything happens to the programming as I have all the paperwork to have the software reinstalled free of charge if anything ever happens. And so far the dealership where I had the PPK2 installed has been the only one doing work beyond just a simple oil change. If anything happens, I and they will know it happened there. |
