Clearly...silly mistake on my part.

The tune would adapt timing with better FMIC, so doubt it is placebo. Lower temps from FMIC would allow the car to perform better at top end when stock IC becomes a limitation.

Saffa in St Ives?... that's extraordinary!

How much heavier is the ETS? Did you weigh it and compare to stock prior to installation?

I'd say the stock FMIC is 2kg's, ETS around 6kgs. Doesn't make sense to me that 4kg would lower the front. Nothing else has changed

There is a chart somewhere in the e90 forum comparing the weight of each. I can also weigh my stock too, but I don't believe the ETS is that much heavier. The wagner and ETS were the lighter ones.

Stock FMIC = 3kg, ETS = 8.5kg.

Bar & plate are much heavier than tube & fin IC's

You must have a nightmare of a driveway entrance, if 5Kg's can make the difference with scraping..

Agree larger and more efficient fmic would help greatly in delivering cooler air and more efficient engine temps. But that much difference?
