Meticulous as always

Good to hear Cobb worked out for you. BTW, what made you decide to give the stock CP the flick?

Ive thought about it too, but its an obvious mod if someone looks under the hood. From what I've seen the newer build 1Ms CP fit was seemingly better than the early build (which shipped mostly to US).

CP is required if running a tune...just a matter of time before the stock CP fails. I consider the OCC and ER CP as necessities, not performance mods.

BMW NorthShore knew I had a tune this week as ECU has been flashed 6 times....can't hide it so go with it

Lol...did they say anything about the flashes?

It must be common knowledge all 1Ms are running a tune - except Donald

Yup, agree with above comment. Even mine has been massaged...Wagner intercooler upgrade $750 plus fitting, Miltek cat back exhaust $2350 plus fitting, AFE cold air intake $535 plus fitting, full stage 2 GIAC flash to suit all fitted components $1395. See link below. Mine was the first 1M in Oz and has now done 25K. Very happy with it and do the track very often to get the most out of the little devil. 18 inch Apex's and Hankooks next.

If you have a BT tool you can see how many times you have flashed yourself .

Nice, new rotors would be worth $600+ a set right?

Front pair is $1700 - covered by warranty once as a goodwill gesture. Not pads & sensors though.

Ouch!!!

Generally those items are classed as consumables, they must be keen to keep you happy and in a bmw (smart move on their behalf!)

Suppose, but rotors shouldn't be uneven after 9,000km. I could understand if I didn't run them in properly, but I did.

Perhaps it is that this 1M has had a few things already under warranty
- rear bar respray
- front wheel replaced
- both side mirrors cracks in housing
- door seal

Parts bin special

Hmm on the flipside I would rather be delivered a 1M with those 'cosmetic' issues which are obviously easy to diagnose and repair, when you hear of N54 owners having mechanical issues such as injectors, hpfp, oil leaks etc with constant visits back to the dealer attempting to diagnose the issues

Why was your front wheel replaced? Did it crack, or was it related to a surface finish issue?

Haha they go alright for a parts bin special, and don't look too bad also

Had a deformity ...cosmetic that the dealer picked up pre-delivery

Yes correct, but what I was stipulating was I haven't heard of any 1M owners having these types of mechanical issues (but its common with 135/335's)

It's most likely because of their later build date they would have ironed out those issues. The injector recall was late 2010 and 1Ms were built from 2011. The HPFP would have also been revised many times by the time 1Ms were built.

Well apparently a new injector part # was recently released (Jan 2103 by memory) so the new Piezo design must mean that an improvement was required?

Just have to add that after a country trip up to Hunter to see a client today, this Cobb tune is insanely good.. So refined, yet brutal. Thank you Cobb

I can't remember Joe's boost curve on the recent dyno chart if he ran with the same map. Perhaps he can chime in here.

Could it be that P3 gauge a little too "sensitive" reading the boost value?
So installed the Stage 1 aggressive + FMIC. 20 psi on P3

May go back to just stage 1 aggressive which gives 18.5 psi

So I wasn't reading it wrong then.
Should we ask Cobb about running 20+ psi on N54 engines? any potential problem?
