Never liked the otto exhaust look myself - always look very stuck on. These one looks pretty good though.

The problem with the sock 1M pipes are they are too fancy/pretty looking for the car. The Remus should add a deeper note and a few HP too ... esp with the MadDads

Did you ever put in that Wagner FMIC? And what of the ESS? ... would be keen to hear about them.

ESS was in and I have written about it. Not the Wagner or the ER chargepipe and forge diverter. Still sitting in the box. Daughter came 2 weeks early, found a staff had been stealing from me for 6-7 months so had to look for staff right before Christmas. Thinking of having everything done at the same time and couldn't make my mind up about the exhaust. Thinking of some Ohlins when it is ready instead of the akra, but no support in Aus.

The 8 exhaust pipe look - like the 135i . Looks like two pair of glasses - if you know what I mean.

Yeah, I love the double look looks good with quad setup

So wih the ESS, does the M button still work?

Yup . M button still works. I honestly don't remember how stock felt, so you will have to search the thread. Love how it keeps pulling higher up the rev range with the tune, but it is still faster to down shift earlier if you are on a straight line.

I am actually tempted to go back to stock just to see the difference. One of the thing bothering me was that 2nd is quite manic and I need to modulate my right foot a bit more carefully otherwise the tail will just slip out. I felt slower on exiting a curve into the pickup lane onto the highway I drive daily.

Tends to skid a little on WOT 1st and 2nd but that's with most tunes.

Thanks for feedback. Before and after dyno would be good if you go back to stock. I see ESS claims 350RWHP (25RWHP increase) as per their dyno chart. Joe's car does 350 just with mid pipes!

Cobb claims 14HP extra.

All these claims are sus, and you can't really just read dyno figures. I would have gone with Cobb if it was out when I bought the ESS as I like the data logging features.

Looking at custom tune options however though once everything is in. I have a friend who's just done a custom tune on his 335i by a guy who normally work on Porsche Race Cars so will investigate further once I sorted out my bolt ons.

Sus is a BIG claim to make, when you don't even understand the extent Peter@Advan has gone to achieve these accurate figures, and don't forget, Peter is a very experienced high performance tech and dyno operator.

We Dynoed three 1M's on the same day at Advan Performance.

They where all within 5-15 kW's of each other depending on the Km's travelled and mods.

My car had 259.8 kws with midpipes.. The stock 1M had 252 kws of hand..

I have dynoed my car at Advan on previous occasions with similar results.

True.True....BUT, when you are modding, the dyno is an excellent way to determine your gains (if any.. )... And if you are not interested in knowing your gains, then why do you mod IMO..

Dyno's are important to measure modifications effectiveness. True that more HP doesn't necessarily equate to a better power delivery or driving experience.
