Montego Blue Metallic vs Lemans Blue Metallic - Finally together
I'm sure my buddy MuNkY will chime in with more pics... He and I decided to shine up the 1s and get some pics today since it was in the 60s and sunny. His is Montego Blue (right in all pics) and mine's Lemans Blue (left in all pics). These colors are nearly identical. Hopefully this will help resolve some of the debates on the two colors.

Nice shots. You should do a photo shoot at night or dusk... thats when the two colors look MUCH different. The Montego Blue tends to become more purple, expcially on rainy overcast days. I like both though. I think LeMans is more sporty though.

yeah the lemans def looks sporty in these pics. my montego still has winter tires on it, makes it look like a buggy. hahaha. we've been trying to coordinate this for a while now. there are quit a few spots around here like that. i think sunset would look really good up there too when the leaves come in. i can really see the purple come out in the montego when the sun hits them both. both look sharp though. really hard to see any difference in the photos but being there i can see it. attempted to upload pics but it wont let me. i'll try again some other time.

Let me guess--are the photos from on top of the mountain from Pine Grove Mills, looking down into the valley?
Just wondering....I grew up in the area. Yes, the colors are very similar, but slightly different. Both are nice--I'd keep either in my garage, any day. I am curious as to where both of you bought them. I shopped in State College, but was treated poorly. I drove another 100 miles down Rt. 322, and was treated far better. Thanks for sharing! |

Yeah--that is definitely the view from Skytop!
I agree with you about the local dealership. When I stopped there, I was in a t-shirt and shorts. They acted like I couldn't afford a BMW. I took my checkbook and credit rating to Sun Motorcars in Mechanicsburg, and was treated well. |

Thanks for the pictures. I've wondered what the differences in the two colors really are since they look so similar.

Yeah Joel confer in state college are horrible. I ended up having to drive 2.5 hours to reading for a recall. I just refused to even look at there stupid faces. Finally ended up talking to the service manager and he's a really good guy. He helps me out a lot. Big up to Marvin at Joel Confers.

After I got dissed at Joel Confer's, and ended up at Sun Motorcars, I mentioned my "dismissal" at JC's to the salesperson at Sun.
My salesperson, who was great, simply grinned a little bit, and said, "We don't like to talk about other dealers, but we've heard the stories." As State College is a relatively affluent town, with less angst in the recent economic downturn, you would think that a BMW dealer there would thrive, if managed properly. There must be a lot of uninformed, or maybe even stupid, car customers in that town. But, what do I know? I'm just a punk kid (58 YO) who grew up in Bellefonte! |

Thanks for the comparison shots. I've seen my car next to a Lemans blue, and the Montego is lighter and brighter in the sunlight. I haven't seen any nighttime or dusk shots of both, but I know when I walked up to my car last night when it was sitting under a street light, I was saying wow, look at the purple car. Very cool colors both of them.
