Stock license plate lights - BMW 1 Series Coupe Forum / 1 Series Convertible Forum (1M / tii / 135i / 128i / Coupe / Cabrio / Hatchback) (BMW E82 E88 128i 130i 135i)

I am a newb and serched for the answer to my question, but could not find it.
Are the stock license plate lights LED?
Reason I ask is that I just purchased a used 2008 135i convertible and the lights were out. I bought the car through Carmax and when I took it in for them to fix they replaced them with LED ones. Just wondering, b/c I feel like I got away with a free mod!

The stock license plate lights are LED from factory.
