I agree. Sad to see the e82 coming to its production closing. There is a lot this car needs from the factory but I doubt the 135is will be a solution to all...(that already came out, it is called the 1m)

I predict this car would have a factory PPK, sport package standard, new badge and possibly subtle cosmetic differences similar to those with the 335is.

Let's get one thing straight: We'll never complain about a new BMW 1 Series performance model, and on paper, this new-for-2013 135is sure seems like a total hoot. But you have to understand, we're still mourning the loss of the 1 Series M Coupe, a one-year model that we absolutely fell in love with when it debuted last year. To quote BMW, the 135is is the "top performance model 1 Series for 2013," and awesome as it may be, it just makes the 1M's death seem all the more permanent. Le sigh.

Still, there's plenty to be excited about with this new 135is. Available in both coupe and convertible body styles, the hotter 1 Series uses a more powerful version of the 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six from the 135i, boosted to 320 horsepower and 317 pound-feet of torque here – upgrades of 20 and 17, respectively, over the standard car. Both a six-speed manual and seven-speed dual-clutch transmission are available.

A revised sport suspension comes standard, as do visual upgrades like new 18-inch alloy wheels, a blacked-out grille and black mirror caps, in addition to all of the usual M Sport cosmetic changes.

The 135is is available to order as you read this, with the first deliveries taking place in the fall. Pricing starts at $44,195 for the coupe and $44,895 for the convertible, including the $895 destination charge. Give the 1 Series M a final wave goodbye and scroll down to take in all of the details about the 135is in BMW's press blast.

320hp/317lb-ft are the exact figures stated for the PPK (wonder if it has the stage 2 cooling enhancements like the 1M).

Can we assume the "revised sports suspension" is the BMW Performance Suspension?

Wheels are nice. I could do without the mirror caps and dash plaque.

Edit: Better details in the press release: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...php?p=11967788

No, the autoblog link (which I did click and read) makes no mention of the additional cooling enhancements and only says "revised sport suspension".

The press release says:

"The engine cooling system has been upgraded to match the additional performance output by adding a larger, and more powerful radiator fan and an auxiliary radiator."

and

"The 135is is equipped with sport suspension incorporating an aluminum double-pivot front suspension and a five-link fully independent rear suspension in lightweight steel."

and describes the new, cooler running, differential.

So I will restate, there are better details in the press release.

I think if the 135is gets rid of the amber corners, it will be a larger selling point than having a PPK.

But that's just me. My gf's 135i just ended its production and will be on its way to CA!!!!!!!!!!!

I am still figuring out how to get rid of the amber reflectors. I think I will bake them or heat gun them. Really can't have amber!

Someone please help.

Something like this is what i have been thinking of doing. I THINK its just gloss black vinyl, but not sure.

Although, I am also trying to find a German to trade setups straight across with.

The vinyl overlay looks nice from the side but when you look at it from the front you can still kinda see the amber.
I think baking is the only solution. However, seems like no one has really done it this way. I wonder if it is because people don't care about perfection, or someone has done it but failed.

The 135is will be a pretty cool car. BMW really underpriced the 1M though. I don't think they thought it would be such a big hit, otherwise they would have priced it much higher and made more of them. I am glad I got my 1M.

I feel like the 1M is more of a gift for dealership as they can markup higher.
If u think about it the 1M + markup almost costs as much as an M3.
And they set a horizon so that dealers can increase the price.

And 135is is for people who missed out on the 1M. They are trying to tell us we should buy while they are available. Lol

You may be right. I think the dealerships that got later deliveries of 1M's really cashed in. The early orders to loyal customers were pretty much at MSRP. Any remaining new 1M's at around $65K don't sound so bad now do they?

=)
we cannot compare 135i(s) with the 1M.
1M is from a different planet.
