As far as I know, the LCI tails (Blackline or not) are PnP for 2008-2011 U.S. cars because they all came with LED tails. The U.S. 2012 cars without HIDs come with different, non-LED tails and they are not PnP. I see you're in BC, which I'm interpreting to mean British Columbia. If that's the case, I'm not sure about Canadian cars.

So, what's going on with this?

I'm interested depending on the price. If it works on a 2008 model plug and play and don't need to spend extra money on extra "modules" and whatnot, I'm in.

I doubt there would be a 40 person GB feeler list if it were that easy. As far as I know, they arent DOT approved, so no US based parts departments will get them and no international vendors have been willing to ship these to the US.

But man, you would think an international vendor would be all over this. A 40 person list this rapidly is pretty crazy.

Sorry for the late update guys. I have been in contact with a ton of people (foreign / local vendors) and they are working out all the information with me - making sure that we get just the Xenon version of the lights without the modules/harnesses.

I will keep everyone posted, the vendors seem to be very interested in working with us. It is just a little bit of wait time to get all the information settled through as BMW lists it as a package... And these can't be sourced directly through the US.

+1 lol thats why we started this because there is NO WHERE to source these currently in the US. This would save time/money for you.

They aren't dot approved. they are tinted black, if you're not willing to risk it don't buy it. international vendors will ship them to the US just they have not agreed to a group buy yet.

No I didn't ever hear back from them... This price is from a UK BMW Dealer. I would, however, like to use a vendor on this site to source these as they may be able to help us out a little bit more.

I was simply explaining to you why you cant just pay another $20 and get them direct. Like I said, there wouldnt be a 40 person feeler list if that was the case.

Nothing in my comment was a reflection of my hesitation to buy, not sure where you got that from. I fully intend to.

No reason for bashing each other and complaining how long it will take. Group Buys often take a month or so to start so if you don't want to wait then just PM me and I will remove your name from the list. Not saying that would be a bad thing, but if your constantly posting that you can source yourself then go right ahead. I am here to set up a group buy for the members that might not have time to do so, thus saving money/time for you...

Some people regretted doing so when I started the Group Buy with the BMW Performance Side Skirts from Dan@United. It ended up being a really good price, but was only a 1 time thing. Just from experience Group Buys are usually better if they get rolling...

The "Xenon" is BMW's way of saying it is LED equipped. All US Spec 1'ers prior to 2012 have LED taillights standard, thus not needing the required harness/module that was stated with the original LCI Taillights released back in December but was never needed...

These should follow the same circumstances and should be PnP with all existing models prior to 2012.

Added your name to the list

Good NEWS! we have one vendor that has verified he can get the taillights and have "40" ready to ship out in 3-4 weeks. Price has been confirmed and he can start immediately on the group buy payment.

I am still waiting on a few more emails then will decide where to take it/work out more details. All vendors have been extremely helpful by the way!

Satalite, I have also been in contact with a few vendors who advised that no one has approached them as yet on this. Still waiting to hear back from them on pricing. PM me if you want their details.

As long as the price is around or lower than the normal LCI price range, that would be affordable i guess.

Yes it is a Canadian car. I sent danny at bmwpartsonline.co.uk my ser# off car and thats what he said i needed. But my car has led tail lights already and was up for same recall on them as everyone else. The recall about the glue giving off a gas and burning out the led bars. If there is a good price group buy i will try them anyway without module and harness and see what happens.

They should be PnP on a 2011 as long as you don't have a 2012 model.
