Help with p3 boost gauge

Okay so I got the p3 boost gauge, everything is good and I have no problems with the install. I am just trying to figure out whether or not I can use the green wire for the auto dimmer to tap my map sensor in order to get accurate boost reading.

I have a Jb4, N55 engine, and I received the most enhanced version of the boost gauge, so everything is easy plug and play...thanks to Rick ...so my question is, does it matter which wire I use on the harness? As long as I use one of them to tap the map sensor on the Jb4, or do I have to use the blue one to tap the map sensor? Because the blue wire is too short to reach into the engine bay and the green wire looks long enough to reach.
Thanks in advance for any help.

If you want to read boost from the map sensor with jb4 tune and use the A.n55 mode you need to run a wire to the blue wire on the gauge... green is only for dimmer line.

You'll need to get a wire tap and some wire and a quick disconnect from radio shack. We plan to have a more plug and play option for that soon since there are quite a few people that use the gauge on n55 with a piggyback.

If you need more details feel free to hit me up at rick@p3cars.com

I received the enhanced version, so I only had to plug in the one wire into the obd port and that was it. Mine came with one additional green wire, blue wire and brown wire, which the green one is for the dimmer line, blue and brown is for anything else you might want to tap. In my case I needed to use the blue wire to tap the map sensor on the jb4, which is the brown wire, second sensor from the right. The only thing is, is that I have yet to make it work properly because i need to input the correct voltage or something like that for the sensor that I am tapping, into the boost gauge in the configuration menu to get the correct reading for boost and vacuum, so can not give you an answer for the last question yet, sorry.

Sure no problem, I just need to find some time to contact Rick and ask about the configuration numbers for that specific sensor. If you have time and would like to ask him yourself, his email address is further up on this thread when he responded to me in the second post.

If not then no worries, Ill get it done by the end of the week.

BMW is on a 2-4 week delay for parts. If you are at 3 weeks it will be shipping this week.

Newest version has an A.n55 option for analog map sensor tap that takes care of all the settings for you, use the blue wire on the gauge for map sensor tap.

I believe Rick just cleared that problem up for us, thank you Rick .

And you use the blue wire from the boost gauge to tap the brown wire on the Jb4 harness, which is the second sensor from the right........http://support.p3cars.com/attachment...me=harness.jpg here is a link to a picture of the wire you need to tap in order to get the correct reading for boost .
