Instrument Cover Hood

Hi,

Has anybody done something different to the 1M look on the instrument cluster hood? An ebay org called NVD has done a carbon cover but very expensive. I am keen to do a carbon one would a wrap work or too much heat from sun (Australia) hence more of a carbon shell required?

Thanks

I don't think you would have any luck wrapping the stock part. Its probably do-able but the piece is textured like the rest of the dash and would show through the wrap.

Most go with the 1M alcantara style because it cuts down how bright the dashboard is during the day.

Last I checked there were some "Italian" leather hood covers on ebay from a UK shift boot company, various colors and stitching types. IF I went that route, I would put a thin (like 1/8") layer of soft durometer foam down on the hood before attaching the cover.

Edit: found it!

Nice find. I've never seen these but it might be a future mod seeing as they offer suede.

Absolutely wow I like that! I have the carbon performance trim so I was thinking carbon to match that but I also have a performance steering wheel so the leather with the m stitching will also tie in. cheers!!
