2012 135i vert girly?
So was looking to get into something newer before my warrenty ends on my 2007 335i and the dealer has this 2012 white 135i with M package, navi, harmon kardon ect. Would you guys consider this a girly car? MSRP for it is 52K and they got it around 43K with lease payments of $496 a month close to what i pay for my 335. They are giving me 20K for my 335i sedan which has 53K miles on it, every option, CPO warranty, tire and wheel pkg, etc. Guys think its a good deal?

its very nice. I don't think it looks "girly" at all. I recall that I thought the Z3 was ... but this 135i looks cool to me :-)
Good px too ! |

The 135i, and the 1 Series in general is BMW's best kept secret. The 135i M Sport is a perfect car and if you enjoy driving with the top down then I say go for it!

Short wheelbase RWD convertibles are great fun (read miata, boxster, z4) and plenty of men drive them. But, I must admit, there's something slightly girly about them... that's just IMO. Not trying to offend anybody.

I have that same car and yes I've heard the "chick car" comment made, but only by my wise-ass friends and my 13-year-old niece.
Just take them for a ride and they will see its not a girly car. Unless of course its not a manual transmission and then it is, in fact a chick car ;-)

Verts always seem more feminine to me, as do white cars, however I would never knock anyone for buying one. Just be careful you don't get one of your high heels caught in the floor mat.

Add some mods like rims and black out the grill and taillights - no longer a 'chick car'.

Not girly: BMW 135i convertible.
Girly: Not knowing how to rotate your own images 90 degrees.

I am going to give my honest opinion and say yes.
A white on tan 1 series convertible is somewhat girly. Only 1 convertibles I have seen were driven by women. But if you like it, who cares. So many people tried to sway me from my car for various reasons. I bought it for 1 reason alone: I love it. |

My $0.02...
Yes, white convertible is kind of girly. Although when I came home with my jet black 135, surprised the wife, she asked "why did you buy a girly car". That said, so is the 3series. I once parked next to another 328 same yr and color, when I had mine, and an older woman got out and said " nice car" just put some mods on and some aftermarket wheels and you'll be fine. Nothing looks better than a white 135 with a black roof and black wheels imo

I get told my car is a "Chick Car" sometimes, but I really don't give a crap. I love the looks of the car and if some guys are too insecure to drive a small car, screw 'em. They stop laughing when all they see is my tail lights...or if I give them a ride, they usually piss themselves. I once gave a ride to a former Apache Helicopter Pilot and I quote, "That car scared the frikken' hell out of me"...and I'm only stage 1. ;-)
Plus - just today I saw a girl (Pretty cute, actually) driving a built M3 and she knew how to drive it. Talk about sexy...but I digress - point being, if someone thinks it's a girl car or if you're concerned about it, I would urge you to "Not give a shit" and go with what you like to drive...in the end, that's all that matters.
