There are too many variables to give you a proper quote but I was putting like $4k down and paying under $600 on a loaded car. As far as I know, the exhaust mids and axle back are interchangeable.

Now, if the 2 is completely different (with different front end design, etc...), then I'll be in a quandary! |

Edit - and let me also say that if that info comes true, it's going to be damn sweet and I'll be, as I said, in a quandary. Last edited by mb135is; 10-05-2012 at 08:46 AM. |

Get used to ///M badging on everything. Seems to be the intent of BMW NA (at least). Position of M brand manager was absorbed by the other series mangers. Makes sense with such a low percentage, but not something ANY enthusiast wants to hear.

Matt Russell is gone? Hopefully he's elsewhere with BMW.

wide variety of opinions
New to the site here - there are certainly a wide variety of opinions on the 135is. I have one on order which hopefully will arrive in April - currently in production with estimated completion of Feb 4. Deep Sea Blue with the black/blue stitch leather and manual trans.
For me, this car was exactly what I wanted and could afford, as I buy cars rather than lease. This will be my second BMW, my first one being a base model E46 (2004 325i with leatherette and very few options), which I would have continued to drive for a while longer except it has developed some significant engine problems recently ![]() Can't wait for my 135 to arrive!

Report: I have a 2013 135is convertible. I traded a 2007 335i convertible.
The 135 is smaller, feels more agile, and I'm sure it'll be faster when it loosens up. I really like the 7 speed DCT. The exhaust is very snarly. I've driven the 3-series M and felt it was too much like a hammer, so I do not miss the 1M. I hate the tiny back window but do not plan to back up all that much anyway. I miss the little red LEDs in the interior, and the cup holders. I am mightily pissed off not to get LED angel eyes, since there was a 2012? 1-series at the dealer that had them. Wonder if I can upgrade. It does have an odd LED eyebrow over the lights. Small comfort. I wonder why I got a convertible in February in Michigan but it seemed like a good idea at the time. What else can I let you all know? |

Had a nightmare last night that I sold my 135i and bought a chrysler 300 something or other. Woke up distressed and went out to look in the garage, thank god it was only a dream. 135is would be a nice deal on the secondhand market, glad to see it coming. Only upset we can't get a LSD option.
That's the one thing I miss all the time from my MX-5. Sooner or later BMW HQ will figure it out. |

Scary dream!
I have been surprisingly upset because I have a rattle and the dealer's service guys, somehow, were ticking me off. Maybe these cars make you crazy. Road & Track seems to like the 135is, and to think it may be the last driver's car in the BMW lineup. As the weather warms, I'm liking mine more and am getting used to it. It has trouble obeying the law, though. |

BMW really....
No hatch in the states, no coupe where I am. They give us the M135i thinking no one here wants the coupe (not true), and they give US "135is same thing as M135i but different body shell" thinking no one there wants the hatch (prob. no true either). So where there is M135i, "135is" isn't available. 135i technically you can't get it anymore (at least not for us), so there is no overlap. yawn. http://www.m-power.com/_open/b/varli...lang=en&x=2807 this guy says driving experience is very different for the M135i/135is from that of a 135i. I bet there are more than enough tuners here to prove him wrong. Why, BMW, who's making those decisions? $$$ eh. I wonder if you pop a firmer suspension on a regular 135i and LSD how's that compare to the M135i. |
