Interesting this speed limiter stuff cause despite the fact that officially all 1Ms are with speed limiter fixed to 250 km/h or 155 mph, mine and others in certain markets are not limited, don't know why.

Yeah, I don't know what's up with that. I have reached 270km/h in my stock 1M. I have mine in Peru.

Maybe cars send to Latin America or just certain markets are not limited (despite the fact that ours are quoted as Euro spec.) because another Forum member from Chile who also has a 1M-stock and I contact frequently, told me that he reached close to 285-290 km/h indicated with his stock 1M and the car was still going but the road did not let him. It was very clear from my multiple 270 km/h runs (all backed up thanks to my marital status
) on a perfectly flat highway where the car was still strong and pulling at those speeds. I doubt there is any speed limit in my car other than the 0.37 Cx! |

Regardless, the JB4 overrides the factory limiter does it not?

Secondly, no cold sweat ? In 2004 a Porsche GT2 litterary went airborne on a main Belgian highway during a road race with a new GT3 (both were on their way to the Spa-Francorchamps circuit to participate in an afternoon race session). It only took a little road bump (connection point between consecutive/stretched road 'plates') to get enough air under the front chassis for a lift off at 250 à 300kph. Both inside the GT2 killed. (http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/rac...e-belgium.html - http://www.lalibre.be/index.php?view...&art_id=183573). Below a video of the aftermath of a lethal GT2 road race accident which happened on a highway in Thailand (posted three weeks ago). Viewer discretion advised. Judging by the speedometer needle, the GT2 was going 280kph at the moment of impact (see: 00:07 | 02:10 | 02:27) ! (http://www.tannetwork.tv/tan/ViewDat...DataID=1054487) Take care, guys !

On my part, all I can say is when I reached the 270 my wife needed to look at the speedo to get scared, and she never even did 220 before, the car was very very stable...to my surprise. And I never reached those speeds (over 240-250) before. The road was unbelievable, perfect quality, empty, flat and the visibility was also super good, you could see miles ahead and also no wind; so I found it "if not now, when?". I am not in high speeding, that was a one off due to conditions. I know how cars can start flying ![]() |

From the looks of it, it seems that the 1M would beat the M6 pretty handily in a 1/4 mile contest. The bigger brother needed a lot of real estate to reel it in. The low/middle end power is quite impressive. Well done OP.

Awesome video and map 6 with the latest firmware/settings is definitely stronger than 2 on the butt dyno, much much smoother to boot, it hits the boost target low and holds steady where the older firmware oscillated. Great results.

Great vid OP. Hope to see the rest of your vids you spoke about!
On a side note, what kind of fuel are you guys using to run map6? I run Ultra94 (Sunoco) and it pulls timing. |

Right now I am running map 6 with 98 octane (RON) and it pulls great! Had to change open loop mapping to 50 and set Bogfix to 0.
