Launch control?? HELP!!

I finally got 1200 miles on my 2012 135i and I can't activate launch control! I did exactly as the owners manuals says. Do I need to take it to the dealer so maybe a flash is needed? I know the M's require a flash after break in period. Any help will be appreciated.

in the 2011 135 msport what you do is as follows

wait for the engine to get heated, best to be at the 120c temp point for safety

u turn off completely the dsc [5 sec press on the button]
press the sport mode
shit the transmission to manual mode
hit down gear [to get it to M mode and not S mode] i didnt try in S mode.

I tried that..I tried every possible combination! I was out in my car last night for over an hour trying. I called several dealers and of course the techs didn't even know it had launch control.

I don't think a complete cancellation of DCT is required. Just one press to get the warning light to come on. Press the sport button and put the transmission in M1 and your foot on the brake.

Make sure the car has been driven 6 miles and is warmed up to 230-240F.

When i press the DTC button it says traction, i noticed on some of them actually say DTC when the button is pressed.

Don't press the DTC for 5 seconds, that will disconnect it completely.

What you need is:
1. Drive with your car for at least 10 miles till the engine is fully warmed up. This is important as the LC won't start otherwise
2. Press DTC once (not 5s)
3. Put gearbox in DS, shift down to go in manual mode. The gear displayed should be "M1"
4. Keep the brake pedal pushed, and floor the throttle until the end. Note there is a little click at the very end when you push the throttle to the metal. This click will activate LC. Anything below that will not.
5. The Launch Control icon with a flag should be displayed in your dash and the RPM should go up to 3500. As soon as you release the brake, BOOM, you will go

it revs up to 4200 and once it hits 4200 it just launches.

i tried that several times alex, nothing works. I ordered the car with the Performance Power Kit, i heard that disables the LC

It can be picky over when it will activate. It's a bit of a pain really.

I've found it's like dropping the clutch and just ends up in a lot of wheel spin anyway.

I tried it the other night and got the checkered flag. The trick is to nail the throttle peddle to the floorboards really fast. If you press lightly, it will appear to be running against the clutch. BTW my car has PPK, for anyone who thinks there is no launch control with PPK.

When you say it has done 1200miles, is it literally just over that? This not an exact science as I found and it was closer to 1300 before mine let me play..
