Java Green 1M Coupe Rolls Off Leipzig Line

Production of the 1M Coupe is about to end at the Leipzig plant, and one of the last models to roll off the line is a special one-off Java Green 1M.

All its black trim pieces are finished in black chrome and the wheels are from the M3 GTS.

This isn't the first Java Green BMW however, as there has also previously been an Individual Java Green M3 Coupe produced.

No way I could drive lime green around. But damn I would have loved to go individual, probably would have been something boring like silver or grey of some sort if I could have picked.

I don't think is green is a "true" Individual color. Leipzig has made an e82 before in this (power)green color. Not sure if it is the exact color or not. I think the car was a 123d e82.

When I have toured Leipzig in the paint shop on the far wall... they have all the production colors for the X1's and 1er's. Then they had these "other wild colors" that they have done before as test colors (yellows, reds, greens, weird colors not used on production cars. When I asked about those colors... they just smile and say they are testing those colors. I think that is what this car is. Something they made for a very good customer/friend - to "test".

I was also told that sometime in the future Leipzig will be able to do Individual colors. After all... soon they will be building the i8 there and customers shelling out that kind of money will want some "special" colors for their cars.

I'd imagine it would be possible for a BMW executive to be able to get a non-standard color. I wonder if there have been any other 1M's painted different colors from the factory.

+1. I thought it was 780 total and nothing else or was it 780 plus all additional (testing/special events, etc.) specimens?
