Exclamation CAUTION: Long Beach Blvd 405 South Exit

.....

CHP is hanging out at this exit... two days in a row now.

Their standing outside their Patrol Cars and flagging people down...

I got cited for no front license plates

They let me slide on my window tint since it's pretty light.

Just a heads up for you guys that use this exit.

Really? So the hell with laws - people should just be able to do what they want? Or does that only apply to the laws YOU think should be enforced? Just trying to understand the logic here - why someone would be "speechless" that police officers cite people for breaking the law.

Flame on.

Listen, the laws are there to provide safety and shouldn't be used as a money-making device. We're not saying not to enforce but let's be real, they are putting squad cars there to make a ticket trap, it's not about safety. If you don't get that then convo=over.

Robert that ticket will be a whopping $25 bucks not even enough for the CHP to write the report file it and mail it, there will be extra cost for Sherrif's to sign off, i think its like $15, and if Compton handling your ticket, they are incompetent over there they almost fucked me over for their mistake, I paid all tickets and 2 months later got yellow paper telling me I owe $2,000 for failing to take care of my tinted windows and no front plates. Had to go to Compton and luckily I made copies of everything I sent to them and they dismissed it, can you imagine driving around 2 months not knowing that I had a suspended license!!!!! Better make sure you make copies (scans) of everything!!! The state is hard up for money but hire competent people to save money!! BTW when I got my ticket I was on the 405 on the slow lane driving safely at freeway speed (60 mph) not driving crazy and got pulled over for DRUM ROLLS no front plates!!! WOW

Um....so just what scenario do you envision where you wouldn't object to a ticket? Seriously - give me an example where it would be ok to enforce these laws, and you wouldn't complain. Does there have to be an accident first? Would it be ok to ticket then? I doubt you'd think so - you'd probably protest that as piling-on. Besides, waiting for an accident to happen runs counter to the safety argument.

Guys go for YEARS with infractions - dark tint, missing plates, etc. - without getting a ticket. I'd hardly call enforcement onerous or heavy-handed.

If i was doing 120 on the freeway...i'd say i deserve a ticket.

If i'm cruising down the street to go to In-N-Out without my front license plate then i shouldn't be getting pulled over.

You clearly don't get it.

No, I don't. I just haven't figured out who put you in charge of deciding what laws should be enforced, and what laws shouldn't. Nut up - if you willingly choose to violate a law - passed by your legal representatives (not the police department) - then just accept the consequences, and stop blubbering about it. Jeez.
