SO, I finally got my 1988 E30 M3 back from the shop so I decided it was time for a photoshoot with my VO 1M.

Last week at a fuel station a man of 65-ish came to me saying that he still had owned the first generation M3 when it was released back in the day. Fond memories, he said with twinkling eyes. The 1M was the first M car he liked again.

thanks for all of the compliments, for those who dont know, Henna red was a 1st year only color on the 1988 m3, and half way thru the model year, BMW changed the color to a darker red. The orange/red did not go over too well in the us market, thus only like 200 or so were built Henna Red. BTW, the wheels on the e30 m3 are e39 5 series 16 inch sport wheels, i thought they beefed up the m3 stance from the stock 15 inch wheels.

There's something wrong with the wheels on the M3 .. seems its too big or there's too much space on the rear especially ?

yes, i need a spacer on the rear because the offset is for a e39 5 series

Yes, I'm jealous! So happy to have a 1M but to have both 1M and E30 M3, that is soooooooo cooooool.

Wow, awesome. A shame the 1M wasn't built in the same color. I really wish that in addition to building more, they would have had a couple more traditional M colors, Esotil, Imola, IB, ect.
